This is beaten, bar in the nursing homes. We need to start moving on and throw huge resources at the nursing homes - something we should have done at the start.

It seems a bit chaotic to me.

Your constant bickering negativity is wearing. What's your rush for the figures? This isn't an entertainment programme.

That's a massive statement from Dr Holohan regarding two experiences.

You should always look at the numbers per million
We are not really doing that great compared to the most infected countries in the world at the moment

Bad as they are, and every death is a grieving family, they are most certainly not huge.

43 death deaths in one day in a country of our size is huge, absolutely. It is more than a 50% increase of the average national mortality rate on a typical day

If we were same size as France/Italy/UK which are all about 12/13x times our population ,it would be 560 deaths, we are not at the level of deaths in continental Europe but not miles behind either.

    The curve has flatted significantly

If the R0 is less than 1 new cases should decrease.

Yet Harris says we should be careful as new cases are on the increase.

    Am I missing something here?

The only way cases can increase if the R0 is 1 or lower is from imported cases.

R0 of .7 gives 700 new cases for 1000 existing.

Jasus RTE's camera work is ****e, they must know they need more than one camera or the readiness to do an insert graphic

    which curve?
the daily deaths have reached a new high today, no sign of a decrease there

Why isn’t the interpreter moving towards the graph?

Numbers very low from Germany today.

Can we read that the backlog of 30k sent over has pretty much been cleared?
Yep, should be more or less it. If they report Germany it will be for current tests and I'd say there will just be in total number.

I doubt it's rte doing the camera work. Virgin media have the same feed when they are showing it on their news stations or on the Internet.

Only 8 of the new deaths were nursing homes.

    253 vs 245 yesterday.

    Not necessarily, given the camerawork.

Of course, but we're taking in the context of the number of cases to date, the number of hospital cases and a pandemic situation.

Unfortunately deaths will continue to rise, based on the number of patients still seriously ill.

When they saying nursing homes - does that mean died in the nursing home, or was form a nursing home origin?

Is the curve flattening because of the good weather? - if so there is no for lockdown

Nothing to do with weather. Covid 19 is not heat sensitive.

Gonna have to wait for the tweets for a decent look at the graphs.

Yes. But he said new cases are rising. They should be falling if R0 is less than 1. Maybe he said it badly and meant to say we still have new cases.

New cases rising means R0 over 1.

Lots of people having drinks in other households over the weekend.

A few doses of a tazer and some pepper spray is how these types should be dealt with. That along with heavy fines and detention in a secure facility for repeat offenders. The proverbial ton of bricks needs to come down on offenders of this nature. Time to take the velvet glove off the iron fist.

DO YOU UNDERSTAND FLATTENING THE CURVE?

Do you not realise that this virus has finally given him a life and when it is all over his brief butterfly existence will be ended? Spare a thought.

Do you even understand the numbers and how they are calculated? Do you know that most countries are not including nursing homes, deaths outside a hospital, or deaths where an underlying issue was the main contributor?

He said 253 are from nursing homes. I presume it means within the homes and outside in hospitals.
