    "IT glitch"
    Script issue.
They didn't have the correct output for "invalid", which came from German electronic files. Invalid wasn't encountered during script testing.
Invalid means that there was an issue with the Irish sample, which would then require a new sample, but by then 14 days would probably have passed.

The restrictions are clearly not working

Restrictions are working , you just have to bear in mind that there is a lag from when restrictions started to when results from them will be seen

    Zara needs to be replaced

I just think the calibre of the average journalist at the moment is very low

The increase would be exponential without the restrictions.

With restrictions in place why are deaths still rising? We are past 14 days since they were introduced

How come Mary Lou (SF) had to wait so long for her result while Simon Coveney, Ryan Turbidy and Claire Byrne had fast results?

    Because it suits Sinn Fein?

    Zara got barked at there

Yes they really are sensitive to any hint of criticism. Pathetic.

Someone else should take Zaras seat, embarrasing.

I think they got tested before the rush, her test got caught in the backlog

6.4% really is still quite large growth like, that means cases doubling nationally in a little over every fortnight

    What happened?

    Is she Virgin One journalist?

More deaths yesterday than Croatia have had deaths full stop. Croatia is 15km away from Italy.

Paddy and Joan Mary didn't come home in their droves from Italy in their Lidl skiing finest to there at all.

Is there a reason you're including the German test results in new cases?
They now do a full total which they split into new ones , tested here, and the German ones which are the backlog.

I suppose he didn’t want to hang those involved in setting up the IT system. A glitch makes it sound like an uncontrollable computer issue. Obviously no effective review by a human when the German results entered the Irish IT system.

Did not or could not understand what an invalid test means.

His graphs show the German tests included in the newly diagnosed Irish cases when they're in fact historical. It's creating a misleading growth figure.

How long have you been on this forum? You still don't seem to know the first thing about the dynamics of a pandemic. The shutdown was designed to stop the worst happening - a flood into ICU and critical care with thousands dying in and outside the that environment. It was never going to act like a guillotine.

The peak will be slow coming the peak will plateau and the slope back down will be months in the unfolding.

Is that the highest death toll in a 24hr period?

Vast majority of deaths are in the east

Is Trump doing his 3 ring circus coronavirus media event tonight?

It's just Obama has endorsed Biden and laid on digs at Trump

Could be a highly entertaining evening :D

Strange briefing. Journalist seem scared they might offend someone and in general really poor questions. Extremely amateurish answers given by the HSE

I have noticed this from the start. All seems a bit silly and obtuse!!
