I enjoy that episode as well, especially the part when the driver gets drunk :D

    And of course Trigger

Trigger What d'you think's wrong with him?
Mike What do I think? Well, snow-blindness would be my bet, Trig.
Trigger Yeah? I thought he was pissed.

The driver doesn’t get drunk. The fumes from the dodgy radio that Del sold them knock him out. Same radio causes the bus to explode.

Some of the really early episodes weren't great, purely because there was only a couple of characters.

You get that with pretty much every great comedy. OFAH, The Simpsons, Peep Show, on first viewing the first series might seem great, but when you have seen them all and go watch the first again some of the humour seems a bit off or surreal, the writing and character development is only finding its feet etc. OFAH, for example, in season 1 Del uses the correct French, it's only after Sullivan re watched it he must have realised that it would work better if he was blatantly clueless about the language.

Likewise, all three of the aforementioned end up going a season too far (or in the case of Simpsons about 18 too far). OFAH was pressured into a sub par final three episodes in the early 2000's, Peep Show had a chronic final series, didn't even bother finishing it.

Some funny parts. The pervert cinema manager was very funny, but the guy who plays young Grandad in it, from quadrophenia isn't fit to tie the original Grandad's shoelaces.

Absolutely classic tv show, so many great moments and episodes, they really don't make them like that any more, probably wouldn't catch on with all the modern day snowflakes anyway!

Yeah the bit where Uncle Albert looks at the black lads standing by the juke box and says "I can't hear myself think with all this monkey music". Is that what you were talking about?

Snowflakes might indeed object to that.

This and the green whatever spinoff with Boycie, while kinda watchable are easily the 2 worst things about Only Fools.

Sometimes things are best left alone

Having said that, anytime Delboy and Rodders want to grace our screens again, I wouldn’t mind that as a Christmas special.

Woman breastfeeding a baby in the Nag's 'ed.

Not the exact words but it goes like this.

Del: Ain't that the most wonderful sight ever?

Rodney: Yeah.. innit? Pity the baby's head is in the way.

The episode with the cottage and the mad patient. Rodney sees movement in the trees. In the middle of a storm. Also according to del, what self respecting axe muderer would leave his chopper in the side board.
One of my favourite episodes, in particular the 'snooker' scene they close out with.

I agree it’s a great show but it didn’t go on a season too long, went on about 3 too long and the specials are fairly poor . Some of the later episodes are awful, mostly as Cassandra & Raquel were terrible characters / actresses and were more involved in the storylines

Boycey was the one that said that line but yeah great line. My favourite from EP is..

Jumbo: “ You think I’m bald don’t you?

Rodney : Well it had crossed my mind

Jumbo: Well I’m not Rodney ok

Uncle Albert: well that’s a hell of a parting..

    Classic writhing.

It appeared he was drunk at first but there is a scene where he says he had one lemonade and it was like he was overcome with fumes or something.

The radio in the coach was the same as the Albanian ones del was selling in the market at the start of the episode.

The radio went on fire and caused the explosion on the coach.

No as previously said Harry was overcome by fumes by the Mustafa 50 radio he only had one glass of lemonade at the half way house. He says it to Del in Margate.

I dunno, wouldnt be too harsh on them. Job was never to deflect from del or rodders, but story had to develop if they wanted to carry it on. Agree it might have been wise to end the show on a high, leave the guys in limbo as opposed to the slightly messy narrative of making and losing a fortune that ended it. Thing was, ofah was pretty much a national institution by that stage - the show simply had to go on until arse was well and truly torn out of it. Still, some good moments right to the end. Miami Vice was the only real shark jump moment.

One of my favourite comedy shows :)

Great show that went on just a little bit too long. I collected all the VHS releases in the 1990s / early 2000s and still watch them. Nice to have the full version of A Royal Flush (18 minutes of JS-imposed cuts on the DVD albeit you can it it digitally via the disc from one of the partworks).

Not sure if the transition from 30 to 50 minute episodes from 1989 onwards was a good idea.

Wish somebody would give it a proper DVD/BD release. Unlike other shows, there doesn’t seem to be same push from fans who seem satisfied with the cut DVD sets. Would be great to get the following:
    1) Series 1 with original Ronnie Hazlehurst theme.
    2) As few music substitutions as possible
    3) Commentaries from actors on selected episodes
    4) Inclusion of documentaries
    5) All the mini-episodes, comedy sketches, Comic / Sports Relief spots
    6) Miami Twice as originally broadcast - two episodes not one.

Well I stand corrected then! :D
Thanks lads! I've seen that episode so many times but will gladly watch it again

Harry only has one drink in the halfway house. He tells Del this later on and says “it’s like I was overcome with fumes”.

Fantastic sitcom, probably my favourite of all time. The casual racism and homophobia wouldn't be allowed today but it was definitely a reflection of society at the time. What I also liked about it was how it did actually portray life at the time - Del and Rodney wheeling and dealing dodgy merchandise "off the back of a lorry" to make a living, living in a sh!tty council estate, the pub being the epicentre of all social interaction etc.

There was definitely a bit of a drop off when Cassandra and Raquel were regulars but was still fairly decent.

    Some of my favourite episodes:

Cash and Curry: Del and Rodney pawn off everything they can to stump up the cash to buy a seemingly valuable statue and try to broker a deal between two Indian families at loggerheads with each other but end up being swindled.

Chain Gang: Very similar premise to the above, Del and Rodney get the rest of the Nags Head regulars (Boycie, Trigger, Denzel, Mike) involved in a deal with Arnie for gold chains but this time manage to catch him in the act.

Friday the 14th: Like many others have said, great episode. One of the best lines in the whole series:
Del (to Rodney who steps outside while there's a storm outside): "Come in Rodney there a bloody typhoid outside"
Rodney (closes door and comes in): It's "typhoon"
Del: "Yeah go on then put the kettle on"

A Winning Streak: Boycie keeps winning at poker over Del and Trig but Del manages to play him at his own game to take the winning pot.

May the Force Be With You: May be not the most well known episode but thought it was fantastic. Del is up on a charge of stealing a microwave by Detective Slater but talks and fools his way out of it. The last minute of that episode was pure gold! What was great about this was that it was primarily based in the one small interview room and for an OFAH episode, nothing much really happened if that makes sense but the pure acting and dialogue kept you glued to it to see how things would turn out!
