So has there been a spike in deaths yet?
Suppose it's a good thing people are moaning over trampolines and travel ristrictions as opposed to the death count.

Nope still rising unfortunately. The next sad milestone is 40 deaths a day.

Regarding trampolines, I wonder what did we all do before they were so available.

Jumped on the bed until we hit the wall/floor

Away with the Fairies do you have children? Perhaps it’s how you are phrasing things but it just comes across that you may lack understanding of the pressure some parents are finding themselves under at this time. I haven’t read up on this particular story of the guy trying to buy a trampoline but even leaving him aside , I know families with severely autistic children and I have thought of them the last week or two and how they and their families are coping without their usual supports. It must be incredibly difficult for them and tbh strength to them for being able to cope with the very challenging behaviors of their special needs children. Please actually spare a thought for them. Some of these people have extremely complex special needs.

There is no evidence the guy caught in Tipperary had childern with special needs. Very likely he was trying to keep bored kids entertained.

Regarding trampolines, I wonder what did we all do before they were so available. And how families cope who are living in apartments. Modern managed estates do not facilitate these, eg where I’m living. This is the type of living all the green folk want us to be doing.

Trampolines are great when you have a garden, but they must be secured properly, and have the requisite netting. Otherwise they are an accident hazard and during this crisis we need to take all precautions to avoid visits to hospital for broken arms etc. Accident & emergency doctors always say they are a source of injuries if all the precautions are not adhered to.

Ffs. Do you suggest we wrap the kids in cotton wool?

Likewise, I know of several families( through work) with autistic children who have no school or indeed respite and must be really struggling. I don't know why this man in Tipperary wanted to buy a trampoline but perhaps he had an urgent need for one.

I highly doubt the gardai would choose to make an example of a guy with special needs kids.

I suggest we take due care, that’s all.

    Smaller trampolines are fine indoors.

As I was saying in last post I don’t know about the guy in Tipp but Away with The Fairies seemed to be a bit dismissive of anyone who might have autism. There are genuine cases out there believe me and it must be incredibly difficult. Anyway have to make the best of things.

Not true. The last five days were

    36, 25, 28, 24, and 33.

The trend is still down from the max of 36 despite the blip yesterday.

Leo saying a plan in place to ease restrictions at the start of May.

Where's he said that? I saw his Easter message and he mentions possibly experiencing our peak at the end of this month, nothing about restrictions. Would the general thinking to be easing restrictions as soon as we have hit our peak?

Trampolines cause injuries. A lot actually. (I am not sure about vibrators. Depends, I suppose.)
One thing for sure, I would say with all the attention he has received that guy certainly regrets now ever driving wherever he did for a shagging trampoline. We all hope we will be remembered after we are gone. Just not as the Tipperary trampoline guy. Poor fella. :(

The overall trend is rising though week on week and I think thats probably the only way you can judge this. More deaths in the last 7 days than the previous one. Likely more again next week. You will get blips up or down so thats why you should take a longer time frame. In the UK they are noticing that numbers for deaths are often down at weekends but increase from Tuesday on. The overall trend there is up though.

After seeing his easter message and he said peak was end of Month, i am guessing lockdown wont be lifted after May bank holiday.

I thought they said peak would be this wknd 2 weeks ago.

Anyone have a graph, comparing mean ‰ growth rate in hospital admissions, due to trampoline related accidents compared to Covid related admissions?

Its still a positive trend in the last 5 days, try not to ignore that. How many more people are dying more than normal?

I need to go from Galway to Dublin to complete an exam in my office on Stephens Green at the end of the month. The exam will be done online but requires software only available in my office, it’s not an option to get another copy of the software.

The office itself is open but manned by very few people, will likely speak to no one during the day. Have an apartment in Dublin that is currently empty so no danger of meeting anyone there either. Will I be turned away by the guards on the motorway?

Take the train. No stress about being turned home by the gaurds.

Ah you were lucky I grew up in a bungalow, so I obviously had a deprived childhood.

My dad went to price a job years ago to put in a new stairs for someone who's neighbors had recommended him.

They weren't to happy with the price he quoted and he explained the material costs and the fact that he would be using stronger materials for the banister as kids like to slide down them.
Queue the my little darlings would never do this, we want the cheaper materials rant so he told them they would be better off going with someone else for the job. Same people would more than likely want to sue him when their kid ended up in hospital.

You'd want to get a letter from your company saying you are needed on premises. And whether they would consider your visit essential is dependent on them I guess, do they need you to do the exams right now? Were they not postponed...etc etc.

Your It team could allow you remote access to that machine so that you could use that software from your laptop at home

Should we be including trampoline accident figures from Germany with the Irish statistics?

How many people who fall off trampolines are asymptomatic?

How many people need to be on a trampoline to have a transmission rate of a bump strong enough to knock someone off?

Are UK tourists bouncing on Irish trampolines right now?

Does Trump have shares in a trampoline company?

What PPE should we be wearing on trampolines?

Re the trampoline - if he had a good reason he would not have been turned back, so let's drop that discussion

Re the conspiracy theory - the OP makes it very clear - that belongs in another forum
