    Has to be a tiny amount left due to travel. A good sign would be if the proportion due to clusters was increasing and community transmission falling. That’s the real indicator that we would be coming under control

    I don't think it is either malice or incompetence. Those dashboard figures are linked directly to the graph. The graph shows the daily pattern of growth. Including the German numbers in that would distort the graph and suggest a huge increase in Covid-19 in the country over the past few days.


    If there was malice, etc, they would not be disclosing the German figures fully and openly, and including them in the detailed statistical breakdown of cases. They are also included in the modelling data.

    As I understand it, people are waiting 2-3 weeks for test results. A lot of results are only coming through now in the last few days.

    They are but as a percentage of the overall cases, they are very stable : this is the 'flattening the curve' phenomenon in action.

    My neighbor who is a carer, is sitting out the front of her house having a BBQ with her sons (who don't live in the house with her), cutting each others hair with their tops off. One son works security for the Luas. His GF comes over in another car with the 5 y/o son. Another two people show up who Iv never seen before. Its difficult to not notice this as they are the last house on the cul-de-sac, having a knockabout listening to scummer FM. These are the type who ruin it for everyone.

    TBF they should have included the German results in the 7,054 total for 10 April. The breakdowns of the 7,071 are for 8 April and include the German results.

    The restrictions need to be ramped up and enforced.

    Did Italy report nursing home deaths and people who died at home that had coronavirus? Genuine question. The way some countries are reporting is different to others.

    Wouldn't rule it out unfortunately considering the situation in nursing homes. Looking at the numbers from Spain, France and the UK, all the talk of Italy's older population profile has gone out the window.

    But we are showing no signs of an increase to anywhere near that...yet. Its been around the 30 mark for the last week, rising slightly.

    Holohan does not want german numbers to disrupt his chart(Growth Chart). But you see his chart is already wrong from two weeks ago. Because the simple matter is that testing is a shambles.

    No they didn't. It's also widely believed their numbers are undercooked. Not necessarily intentionally, just their resources have and still are being completely swallowed up. Many covid deaths in Italy will simply never be detected now. Unless, for whatever reason, they invest heavily in a thorough investigation.

    i'd like to know this for all countries too. i know france weren't, then included them and got a massive spike. the UK as far as i know still aren't recording deaths outside hospitals. italy, spain I'm not sure.

    Given Italy has one of the oldest populations in Europe and Ireland has one of the youngest, our death rate is horribly high
