    what policies have they implemented?

We've literally spent the last dozen or so posts going through it

They most likely are gonna build large-scale social housing in coalition (expect it to be labeled as kick-start econmy or some such rubbish)

When the programe for govt comes out, compare and contrast between the 3 big parties and see whos headline policies top it (may be difficult for FF as they had no notable policy other than it was their go :pac: )

    What better way is there?

Take the Pearse Doherty approach, it's a slight adaptation of the underpants gnomes approach:

Step 1: Reduce the pension age despite having a pension time bomb
Step 2: Decimate the tax base
    Step 3: ????
    Step 4: Better

But the shutdown has affected tourism...and.this has decimated air bnb (and tourism sector),thus freeing up.properties......its scarlily like what RBB said would happen if air bnb and short lets were banned

The man was right.....a decade or more banging that drum, and truth has come to pass for him....well overdue credit

You come in wanting to know what happened homeless figurez, now you know....boyd-barett was a visionary(though must blow his mind,FG adopting his policies)

So if noone can come over to rent a property, there is more property available. He's a veritable Einstein!

    What better way is there?

Not going back to the man who bought about the collapse of the last government way?

Actually properly resourcing the service and making people do their jobs.

Unless ill people were kicked out onto the street that is what happened with the trolley figures...which were the way they were because of those who were managing and resourcing the system.

So just change the whole system. Easy peasy...

Meh....taking air bnb and short lets outta the market has freed up huge amount of property

Why was this not done before now?

Near impossible to justify, going back to way things were imo

    Who said that?

Properly resource it and make people do their jobs. It is fundamentally a logistical and resource issue.
Will it be going back to the way it was? Is that what you are saying?

Its probably wishful thinking that unionized solidarity will stay post pandemic
The money certainly won't if it's being borrowed

How much has air bnb freed up the market by?

    Patiently waiting.

    Patiently waiting.

Im under no obligation to provide links :D

But any article i read suggests 50% in some areas of dublin and upto 7-800 advertised

Mates that i know that got places, they werent even advertised, got through word of mouth...so the exact figure is surely difficult to aquire

Like your free to claim, that collaspe of air bnb and short term lets has had no effect, just deosnt stand up to.scrutiny, but you are free to hold that view, ive no interest in changing it

(i know you havnt stated this, and i apoligise,if i taught of yous as a contarian in the wrong)

FG should make this is their campaign slogan for all time.

We know best so f*ck you. Convinced of their own brilliance, but actually a little dim and profoundly mediocre. Every result is always the best possible outcome even if a finger wasn't lifted. This why people want you gone. We recognise people like you from our daily lives and workplaces, foghorns who promote themselves despite being a whole lot of nothing at all, with a nasty streak to boot.

Newsflash lads, you screwed up a lot of sh*t and people don't like you.

really can't see someone with her views lasting within the party system for the full Dail term, though I look forward to hearing how she's really great from the various supporters on here in the interim.

    Will my salary be paid?
If you work in the private sector, and pay tax through the pay-as-you-earn (PAYE) system, your employer can put you on furlough - essentially, lay you off temporarily - by applying for a government grant to pay 80% of your gross salary up to a limit of £2,500 per month.

SF are angry as hell over this. They are furious that people in NI are getting so much. Can't paint the Tories as bad guys to the middle classes.

Are you saying the 'Tories' are the good gys/gals in this?

More people voted for them here than anyone else.

    (b) In the South. Blame FF and FG. They are anti democratic and wont allow anyone else have power.

FG and FF = Blame a certain section of the people and anyone else but themselves who have shared power in this state since it's foundation.

What are you on about now Morte?

    Maybe.

I think ultimately the responsibility falls to Martin to verify. We can only take politicians at their word until we know different.

In truth we can only 'trust' that NPHET and the HSE are giving the correct figures. we can't actually and factually verify them.

“We can only take politicians at their word until we know different”

Quite a number of politicians have stated that Gerry Adams was Commander-in-chief of the IRA. We can take that as settled then.

You said more voted down south for SF than up north
I said oh less than 25% were they found out,aka why?
You of course know perfectly well what I said and meant

You only go on like that when you e a holding reply before the longer one is cleared from head office :D

Tbf FF and FG have come out and said they dont want 47.6 % of first preference votes in waterford (just of elected tds,) to be in government (38.3 sf plus 9.3 indo)

But are happy for mary butler (a particulary stupid td) on 12.4% and are wanting green canditadte who got 7.4% to be in??

Its somewhat difficult to draw any conclusion, other than they think people of waterford arent wanted

Some of you may not have noticed but Sinn Fein are back.

Remember the social distancing guidelines for no more that 10 people at a funeral?

Well, the good republican Sinn Fein Councillor Francie McNally passed away during the week, and 200 good republican souls turned up at his funeral to commemorate his passing. He got most of the full package, the horse-drawn carriage and the tricolour on the coffin, don’t know if he got the gun salute at the graveyard, though it hasn’t featured as much in recent years.

Police are investigating the incident which was a serious breach of public gathering guidelines. Once again the entitlement culture shines through with Sinn Fein.

Still, glad to hear they haven’t gone away, you know.
