There is a large amount of R & D not yet completed in relation to Electric e
Propulsion for Buses.

The past 24 months has seen a lot of manufacturers making announcements that are a wee bit previous in terms of actual achievable performance,which did'nt always stack up with the hard cold reality of operating scheduled service buses,often on a 24/7/365 basis.

When one sees companies such as Flixbus (Germany) and BYD (China) having very real difficulties with the process then we know that there's a lot more to be done !

The regional newspaper Mannheimer Morgen cited Flixbus managing director Fabian Stenger saying that the lithium iron phosphate battery of the BYD C9 turned out to be so susceptible to faults that “the bus had to stop for several days at a time and as many trips had to be cancelled”. This meant the discontinuation of the electric long-distance bus line launched just over a year ago.
