Doubt they will accept them seeing as they are already at crisis point in the capital
    That would be a shame.
Germany has taken some patients from France, for example.

interesting call on Joe Duffy right now - caller's Dad has died, and they are unsure if it was covid19. Mortuary won't release him until the corona test comes back.

I can use other examples if you like Norway, Finland, Singapore....

New Zealand is a top tourist destination which is close to Australia.

It's not a top tourist destination by European standards. It would be near the bottom of the European table of visitors, less than twice the numbers for Ireland, although it is more than twice the size.

Did you even read the article you posted? The article post date is from June, meaning Ireland had 3.8 million from January up to June. The 3.8 million figure is not for the entire year of 2018..."The new figures, released on Wednesday, show the State had a total of 3.8 million visitors from overseas so far this year"

Ireland had 11 million tourist in 2019 https://www.newstalk.com/news/11-million-tourists-estimated-visited-ireland-2019-939569

No I didn't read the full article because there was block on displaying the full page without subscribing, so I concede the point that you were correct.

It doesn't just stay on the gloves though. People can reach into their pockets or handbags with the gloves on after touching stuff. They will touch their clothes they're wearing in some way as well. So it's providing a false sense of security.

Nothing is perfect. I wear gloves to shop, and roll up my sleeves to elbow and pretend I am scrubbed up like a doctor or nurse. That way you are conscious about what you touch. Remove properly and bin at exit. Leave what shopping you can in a closed box in shed or unused room for 3 days, wipe down the rest.
In fact if I have to be out for work, which unfortunately I do :( , I roll up my sleeves to elbow. No trailing of cuffs, plus way more conscious of hands.

Tomorrow Aer Lingus are flying 9 flights from London, 3 from Amsterdam and 1 from New York. And that will continue daily for the foreseeable future.
We haven't a hope of flattening the curve. A month from now we will be in serious sh*t.

How many people are on the flights?

People are going on about flights but the virus is in the community.

    Why can't that be accepted?

Why New Zealand? It's totally remote.

What about Denmark. Population 5.6m. Cases 1,957, Deaths 52.

    Norway, Population: 5.3m, Cases 3,655, Deaths 16.

They are more comparable to me.

But that wouldn't fit the posters narrative.

Logistically that's a lot simpler tho. Like residents of North West France being transferred over the border into Germany is a lot easier than flying critically ill people from Ireland to the UK.

    GOOD

they don't have to fire them - put them into "furlough" , and possibly not pay them - but at least they'll have a job when this is over.

Exactly. No-one knows. No-one knows how many are on these flights, if they are infected or where they are headed. They are coming from cities which are hugely infected.

To think some of them aren't infected themselves is naïve.

We are just introducing new cases daily. Madness.

The more you introduce, the harder it gets due to the exponential spread.

Don't think Auckland has 60+ flights a day to London. The majority of visitors to Ireland are not "tourists", and it's connectivity to Europe and North America results in massively more exposure to individuals travelling from high risk areas

Why do you keep banging on about flights in every post.

The flights are virtually empty and at this point are still going for cargo reasons.

Theres no bus operator, aircoach etc running to the airport, daa operations are at a minimum. Its empty
