That gender bias is holding up everywhere, clearly a gene based difference

Expect the deaths to rise. 8 clusters in nursing homes.

That’s just so sad, imagine having a family member in one :(

Based on median age it must be the nursing home outbreak.

Men far more susceptible and have higher death rate than women. This is seen in nearly every country.

There may be a specific reason for such a spike. Wasn't a nursing home infected?

But it shows how serious this is and any piece of scum that spits or coughs at anyone should have a minimum sentence applied

The timing of the pressers is completely irrelevant

I'don't make a particularly big deal about it but while choosing different times is one thing -announcing times and not sticking to them is another .
I mean -how hard can it be .?

    Only a 14% increase

But that death figure is a worry

It was always going to happen, more in ICU the more will die.

    10 new deaths? Jesus :(

I had to read that a few times to make sure I was reading it properly. So sad for those 10 families grieving tonight

    No it doesn’t.

It shows, as expected, that those who get seriously ill do die.
We had 39 in ICU, you would imagine the majority of that 19 comes from there

And with a median age of 79 among those deaths, we know then that those deaths are, for the vast majority. In an at risk group.

The groups we are still testing

Miss the start of the briefing - did he mention the cluster of cases in nursing homes - or was this from the other day?

The health officials are only dealing with a deadly pandemic, disgrace they can't run a presser on time!

France: +3,922 new cases/+365 additional deaths today.

    Quite an increase on yesterday!

Very sadly, a 16 years old girl has died in France.
There were no details given on her state of health before she contracted the virus.

This is getting so depressing. I know it's expected, but there is just no slow down to this the World over.

Globalisation should change after this, essentials need to be produced in Europe. But will it? Its not like much changed after 2008.

I think the changes to our way of life and economy will be much greater this time out. Globalization will lose a lot of its sheen and attractiveness.

    Precisely.
But the new figures aren’t rising that much currently.

    Silver linings and all that

It was always going to happen, more in ICU the more will die.

I believe that's how the US deaths is low given the number of cases, people are kept alive on ventilators.

Unfortunately like everyone they're running out of ventilators so will have to start prioritising and making very tough choices.
