Hearing plenty of stories like this, seems to be a big joke to some people. If someone does it to me, they’d better pray the gardai are close by to pull me away from them or they’ll be getting body bagged on the side of the street.

No I don’t think you can brush it away as easy as that - I think we have certain people in this country who go to a&e for a sore finger, clogging the system up. Amazing that the numbers drop so drastically when they are warned to stay the **** away.

Well Cuomo in NY made it pretty clear that their heath system is not yet at capacity, though they expect to exceed capacity in about 8 or 9 days time. That could change things in that hot spot unless there's some significant interventions.

The count in the US is still small for the overall population. I wonder, what was Italy's death rate when their confirmed case count was under 200 cases per million? That would have been around the 10,000 - 12,000 level.

So we’ve 39 in icu with capacity for 600 max.
So we are at 6.5% of icu capacity.
With a max capacity of 470 (public +private beds) we are at 8.3%.
(Someone check my maths please!)
This is the number to keep an eye on. If we go above 100% we r fooked.

People still die from AIDS (in poorer countries mostly)

The 187 is only Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, the figures from the rest of England are not in yet. There will be a much more substantial number once they are.
