Scientists in Iceland claim they have found 40 mutations of the coronavirus,
    ...
“We have the genes from more than 400 infections. The interesting thing about that sequencing is that we can track where the virus came from. Some came from Austria. There is another type from people who were infected in Italy. And there is a third type of virus found in people infected in England. Seven people had attended a football match in England. '

In total, 473 infected persons have been found in Iceland since February 28, when the first case was discovered. A single person is dead and 12 are hospitalized.

The Icelandic health authorities have tested all of the people who either showed symptoms, were ill or were in the risk group for coronavirus.

In addition, DeCode Genetics has tested 5,571 people who did not show symptoms of the disease and who were not at risk but who volunteered to be tested. The genetics company has found 48 cases of coronavirus in which the tested person showed no symptoms of any kind.

The company expects to publish the results of their coronavirus studies and share data on the gene sequences.

What is the story with building sites? Still full steam ahead?
Surely they're not going to be able to use sanitizer regularly etc. Ive 2 mates working on a job at the minute and they reckon there's almost 1600 of them on site.
I'm no expert but if one or 2 of them get it I suspect it wouldn't be long spreading amongst them.

They are only testing people who are brought critically ill to hospital.

They have nearly as many deaths as us so I'd say their numbers are way higher. Another consequence of Boris and Arlene dithering.

Northern Ireland now finally releasing their cases by region, as highlighted by this report.

Building a hospital is a ESSENTIAL, builiding a housing estate or flats or the like is not at this moment in my eyes and whats the story with it being no more than 4 most crews on building sites are more than 4?

Our levels might just be as bad as theirs, remember we have 40k waiting to be swabbed and we are way behind on running tests on those that have been swabbed.

Well it's been said an increased gardai presence to disperse crowds.

Anyone who still packs up the car and goes off to the beach or the mountains when being advised not deserves a fine of some sort

How will they enforce it though? We live in the Dublin mountains and it was manic up here last weekend. Cars blocking the road, you couldn't get up or down it. Illegal parking, crowds of people and lots of dumping too. Any time I have called the Gardaí in the past about incidents that residents have to put up with (joyriders, scramblers out on the open road, shooting out of season etc.) I'm told, "sorry, we have no car to send up". Can only imagine in the current state of affairs they won't even bother answering their phones never mind patrolling the place.

Our death rate says different. Not closing the schools was a huge mistake. Mix all day and back to granny in the afternoon

    Don't think so.

They have 5 deaths out of 1.8million people. We have 6 deaths out of 4.8million people. Unless we have a dramatic spike in death toll today, their mortality rate is much higher.

They can’t completely enforce it, and they and we know this. But the message and action itself will do a lot of the work. Many people will abide. You will always have some that won’t. That’s life...so we will get some sort of result from this.

As for mixing all day, same thing is happening here, if not with granny with someone who is probably an unregistered childminder.

Not necessarily significant - a large percentage of the general UK population (that is not in ICU) is overweight or obese - percentage must be close to 72%.

Where is this 72% coming from? Any of the sources I read are stating much lower, happy to be corrected however
