I’ve no respect for this post funnily enough either. Stop taking up room on this thread with nonsense.

Best to add straight to ignore.

Another excellent call from our authority’s. Delighted with how they have responded since cancelling the parade. Really feels like we are ahead of the curve when you look at other countries fumbling around.

    Great news about the payment.

It now seem that if you were laid off (permanently) for Covid 19 reasons, you will be entitled to €350 in unemployment payment.

My understanding is that this distinct from the circumstances where those laid off will be paid 70% of their wage (emergency wage subsidy) in order to maintain link with their employer.

It now seems that there are 2 levels of welfare recipients. Say you lost your job (through no fault of your own, not corona related) in January, you still only receive €203. Whereas, someone let go a month later due to corona receives nearly €150 more.

I have no issue with the emergency wage subsidy, where there is a link maintained with employer, but how can they justify the first payment?

Will there be any help with disability allowance? It doesn't seem so. I'm very worried how this will be affected?

Bunch of woke hippies seem determined to wipe themselves out... perhaps they are the human equivalent of the panda? :P

Same as Boris last night. They're leaving the decisions to the employers. Chaos on London building sites this morning, workers are not happy as they know it is impossible to socially distance in that environment.

They said a list of businesses etc will follow.

Will make it a lot clearer.

Well you've shown your true colours. Do you realise that there are people out there who want a generalised outline of what's happening. Anyone interested in the nitty gritty can do that themselves. Also, if you knew anything about leadership, it's important that leaders are visible.

    Show your true colours?
I'm having a laugh with and you come out with than random comment?

    True what? :pac:
... Stop reading the thread dude. Think it may be effecting the old brain box.

People in the UK and America who happen to see this broadcast will be envious of the people who we have leading us at this point.

    Key points.
Well done to everyone making the effort in this unique time.
We need to continue and increase our efforts.
We are following what has emerged as best practice in South Korea and Singapore.
We are seeing positive signs of our efforts thus far.

I don't understand why they'd need to raise disability allowance? Someone on disability allowance hasn't had a change in financial circumstances unless they've lost a part time job.

We'll see in due course. We are now S Korea he says, in our approach.

We'd really need to work on our data transparency. I'd like to see a webpage instead of Dr Tony playing north / south / east / west.

Because lots of people still have to go to work in non essential jobs!!! Not everyone gets to stay at home and shut up. Ffs.

Grand if your risking you and your families health/lives for an essential job that may save many others but it's not ok if your heading into a massive factory to produce non essential items, in close proximity to your colleagues. Or to sit in busy offices in those factories. Or to work on a filthy construction site with subpar sanitary facilities.

Yes this brings into question the idea of a universal payment for everyone.

However you won't find much sympathy for someone who hasn't worked in years trying to get an increase.

If he could just stop with the pointless RTE hand gestures.

Still, to this non-FG voter, the decisions and logic behind them seem to be sound, so I've no complaints.

I still wouldn't compare him to Churchill, though, even though his delivery was better than in that big speech a few days go. He didn't say "Ohhh Yesssss!" even once... Hopeless.

Meanwhile in Spain, some individual or group somewhere in the world, who are lower than the lowest of the low, are attacking the hospitals' IT infrastructure :
