The disease is spreading because they won't release accurate numbers by post code.

Just stay in your ****ing house if you're that worried.

Actually, stay of the internet too. Just in case.

I've never understood this constant need for some people to hope others fail, especially where it does not match their own worldview.

It's fairly simple, people that are failures wish for others to fail so that their own incompetence looks more normal.

We don't quite know that yet as all current cases predate these measures. It should be clear in the next week or so.

I had really bad diarrhea from last Wednesday evening until Sunday along with constant stomach cramps, was somewhat cold but no fever or cough and I'm fine now.

Has anyone experienced the same and been referred for twstt. Don't wanna bother the doctor with ringing. Have been off work anyway since Friday last

There are reports that up to 48% of those infected in China reported Diarrhea. For some reason WHO and most authorities do not appear to be highlighting this. I heard at the WHO conference yesterday somebody asking this question and they were a little vague at answering. They basically said its not necessarily a primary condition (or something on those lines).

Keep an eye on your conditions over the coming days, keep notes of how you felt , including temperature etc and if you start to decline or wake up quite ill one of these days give that information to a healthcare provider.

I have been using an Oximeter, blood pressure machine and Taking temperature of my wife and myself for over a week at this stage. My intention is to provide this information to my healthcare physician if either of us start to show symptoms. I know somebody still in ICU who had been onto the authorities more then once and they wouldnt take him in from what I can see. When they finally took him in, it was severe. Hes been quoted in the official figures you see from Honohon (dont want to give anymore information then that).

My Layman understanding is if I have those statistics, it means I can give health officials a better indication of how good/bad we are when I contact them. Rather then saying "I feel awful/sick/terrible", I can quote my different stats, the very ones they take when you will get to a hospital.

and that's going to climb higher today.

I think the Spanish do a morning data release, and then another later in the afternoon. ( either way, they do multiple data releases during a 24 hour period as far I can tell)

"Symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea have been observed in varying percentages among people in several studies, with percentages varying from 3% to 31% of cases depending on the study."

Worth noting that there is evidence to suggest that fecal oral route is a very real transmission route. Think Nora virus.

I'm wondering if a negative feedback loop can occur where the viral load is increased if someone has diarrhoea. Health care workers getting hit hard. Could be due to increased exposure / viral load.

Anyway if you have the runs make sure you are anal about cleaning the toilet. Better still let no-one else use it if you can. Crack a window. Go bananas with the detol.

Along with some of those symptoms, CNN was also reporting that a sudden loss of taste or smell has been associated with a lot of mild cases, as it has for previous coronaviruses apparently.

I think we'll probably get a better picture in the coming days and weeks of what mild cases look like, so we'll have a better chance of isolating and containing the spread.

I dont understand why this information only coming out now. I heard/read reports of this in early February coming from China. I dont understand why its taking them so long to confirm what the Chinese have already confirmed. I remember a Doctor John Video that mentioned in Apartment complexes in China they thought it was spreading through the plumbing.

Any reason why we have terrible reporting on cases in our country?
What is worth the information as 'one woman died in east of country'??

total boll***s... as it means absolutely nothing.

does not require a name but could say this old with there health conditions infected this way or whatever..
not just about deaths but generally reporting here is boarding on criminal.
no wonder why it is spreading this much this fast since people are absolutely not aware of the dangers of it.

Been following this doctor in Madrid that has covid-19
He never had a fever and diarrhea was a pretty regular symptom.

Maybe this has been dealt with here, but what is the story with 'heavier load' infection. The suggestion being that the first in the house gets off lighter but then the rest potentially get a very heavy load due to living with infected person and potentially more severe consequences

Because there's no need. Stay 2m away from everyone regardless, bar people you live with. Fairly simple really.

And you're delusional if you think people are not aware. No-one has spoken, read or thought of anything else for weeks. It's inconceivable the vast majority of the population don't appreciate the danger.

Hubs went to Lidl on Sunday. It was well-stocked. We got everything on our list except for rice and eggs. Eggs are the gold dust item currently, I’m finding. Probably a surge in home baking happening.

Also, Trump is so stupid he’s pretty much guaranteed to get infected so he’ll probably end up hospitalized from this. We’ll see how well his cures work then

I wouldn't wish this on anyone else on the planet except for maybe Arlene but I would be delighted if Trump caught the virus and ended up critically ill from it. I don't want to see him or anyone else die but it would be fitting if he ended up totally fcuked from it and unable to continue.

Yes there is quite a bit of confirmed evidence now that make the guidelines not as effective as they might seem.

Did he make the connection between Diarrhea and people having worse symptoms or a more severe case of the bug ? I cant remember where I heard that, just curious if hes also seen this happen . .

I would also wonder that if people end up on hospital with breathing difficulties would a few of them forget or fail to confirm that they had diarrhea ? (when you cant breath, going to the toilet would be the last thing on your mind).

I’m nearly sure the eggs issue was due to an outbreak of birdflu at the start of the month with one of the main producers in Monaghan

Perhaps its been asked to death, but is there a firm reason why we're still officially on only 5 reported recoveries? I'd assume there are a lot more by now even with the criteria for proving recovered.

I'm guessing that efforts are going into tracking positive cases, and unfortunately deaths and we'll catch up on recovery statistics later?

Just checking if there's a better explanation.
