Most of those cases have come in the last few days. 5% seem to need ICU treatment . It takes about 10 days to get to the stage where the 5% are going to need ICU. So those 25 are from 10 days ago in terms of when they started to feel ill. I think the ICU will start to fill up quickly from now on, hopefully we will be able to handle that surge. I think they should increase the amount of businesses that are shut so as to mitigate that surge.

The first person tested was on radio today. He was confirmed positive for the virus on 29th Feb. His wife was also +ve. He is basically OK now, but his wife is recovering and doing OK but is still in intensive care (ICU). That means she is still occupying an ICU bed after 24 days of testing.

These ICU beds will start to fill quickly, but empty slowly. Very worrying.

    Gets annoying after a while.

I didn't even know such place existed. Il stay clear. I'm one strike away from a permanent site ban. Wouldn't be able to help myself

Will you ever cop on with this hysterical nonsense?
I'm coming from enniskillen at the moment, will I be allowed back home. Have the British army returned in the last hour and a half and set up the permanent checkpoint on the B127 again. The mind boggles.

Thanks. That icu number is key. What's our capacity?

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_hospital_beds

Pre covid-19 not good, 6.5 per 100k. The scary stat though is the 96% occupancy. That is around half of what Italy has on average, and if we factor in the virus is worst in the richest part of Italy the outlook is pretty bad if the HSE's form over the last 20 years is what we get.

And before any one says "its wikipedia", all stats are cited according to the article.

Have you had any close contact with them in the last week or two? You may have to self isolate, the HSE are contacting all such people.

Anyone totally paranoid by people near other people for no matter how brief or rare a time or the fact theyve been stuck in a home together all week, Need to take a look at this if they havent seen it

Take a look at the third one down. Those dots moving about are the "gob****es" you are worried about.

Yup or if you are around 3 people for 5 minutes... well thats based on the number crunching that goes on on this thread.

They need to be informed that if they are in Donegal staying at their 2nd home and fall ill then they will be 2nd in line for treatment after local people whose primary residence is Donegal.
ive seen few such remarks thrown around at those who traveled etc or in pubs, reality is more likely no one would care prob would come down first come first served, or even find that your useless for society with 0 contributions and someone has a family and then karma would kick you in the teeth.

seen some muppet say that if they get sick they hope they get treated first etc because they self isolated - stupidity at its best the way some think.

Shops should introduce a one way system, similar to what IKEA's system is meant to be.

It would reduce the amount of people crossing paths.

When your out for a walk and someone is walking towards you and you move out of the way and sh1t your pants what's the point when you have to be with them for 15 mins to get it

They'll head back to the north after spreading it around the area, they have no cop on with social distancing

I think that the time has come to have a lockdown. One of the first things that you have to decide is what would have to happen to enable the lockdown to be ended. It could be some time before it ends

An important point, not to be understated. What happens if things are the same in 2 months time as they are now, neither better nor worse. Hard to explain to people why the lockdown is suddenly cancelled

This is bullsh*t. You can get it in seconds. It's just the more time spent with an infected person, the more likely it is.
