Dr Holohan said 215. He also said 1,012 in total. Yesterday's reported figure was 785. The figure in the thread title now reads 1,121 (changed to that by another mod). I am not sure where we are up to, but I guess recoveries may be affecting things

    https://www.gov.ie/en/news/7e0924-latest-updates-on-covid-19-coronavirus/#march-23

Official figures say 219 today, total 1,125

I bet you work/stay at home or don't need to go out each day and mix with people to work?

(If I'm wrong I'll be the first to apologise)

Most of the country closed down already.. whiles it’s mostly closed, close everything else for afew weeks.. no one allowed into country for foreseeable future without self isolation for two weeks.. Ireland will be clear of virus quicker than if they stay going as they are and a lot less deaths

If you think stay going as we are and ignoring Italy’s warnings work... then look at Uk. Spain France Italy and America ... all fukt

You only know they were tested
Its incorrect to state they were tested outside the normal protocol or ahead of anyone before them

A 20% death rate in an intensive care ward is likely to be relatively normal I'd have thought.
    lbj666 wrote: »
Yup, but I think that's no different to any admission to ICU.

I get that, but only a few months ago I would have thought I wouldn't end up in an ICU ward with asthma/COPD for at least another 25-30yrs.

    Netherlands just announced new measurs

    1) No more group gatherings until June 1
    2) Local mayors can decide local rules.
    3) Fines will be administered on people who do not observe social distancing of 1.5 meters with the exception of household groups.

Dutch health department still says there's no health risk with children playing together with other children as they advise that children do not contract or transmit the virus. Find that strange as I don't think other countries advise that.

When you say most of the country has closed down, you do know that a large % of people are working from home, or in fact still working in offices.

One last thing - lets say we do what your saying - regardiing next 2/3 weeks, at what stage do you reopen the airports to people if Europe is still a mess?

They seem to have got a test and result fast yet still some at risk vulnerable are waiting on a test

No need to be a knob.
Most people don’t know that only 2000 a day are getting tested.
Only 2k? That is pretty decent for a fairly small country. It is also being seriously ramped up there was a 4.5k figure mentioned
