It was 793 yesterday. It isn't three days in a row at all.

In Ireland it has been three days in a row. Not that that's reason to become complacent. Three days is nothing.

I think the figures can only be accurate if we are at a level where we are returning the same number of test results a day.

If we are returning more results monday to Friday due to resources then weekend figures will be misleading and actually won't show anything . I suspect in the background the CMO and leading figures in the HSE know exactly where we are at. They know lead times on results and exactly how many tests we are doing daily

No, it was updated to 29 earlier today.

But it hanst happened yet. So that poster has no reason to be angry at their friend. Its not like she broke the law by traveling.

The reason why they had to bring in emergency legislation is because there are some idiots in this world who don't like being told what to do.

Otherwise they are posting on threads about the legalities of being stupid.

Can I ask please, are you an adult ?

Very nice of you but sure everything is for the best. People have to be kept safe. I can talk to some of them but there is nothing like a hug from a grandchild to make a person feel happy.

    Just a question
People thinking that the milder sunnier weather will kill this virus?
Is it not Summer in Australia?
How is the virus doing there?

Summer ended on the 29.2.20 this year for them and as for how they are doing

All joking aside, I think this is effecting my mental health and it's not something I would have past issues with.

Today is tough on a lot of families, mine included :-( you're doing the right thing if that helps.

No, it was updated to 29 earlier today.

Was it not an increase of 1 - 12 to 13 cases in ICU - not an additional 13 cases?

    Language is important:

Boris: stay at home if you possibly can. Surely he could have said something like: Stay at home. Do not leave your home unless you have no other choice, e.g. you work for nhs, or you will loose your job.

Because he said what he meant?

The amount of people desperate for a military style lockdown is absolutely bizarre

    Agreed.

Am I alone in thinking that our powers that be are speaking our of both sides of their mouths?

Seems to be conflicting advice. Real seriousness one minute, and then all is in order the next, and kind of go about your business..
    That's not happening at all.

New York needs locking down, what a joke they are flying people in and out all over America still, spreading it wide and far. Have they learned nothing. We need to lock down dublin too

Not that surprising is it? She hasn`t tested positive herself, not yet anyway.

I agree, his messaging is too ambiguous. All advisory instead of directives and very open to interpretation.

    Shocking communication from UK Gov.

Christ those numbers out of New York are scary, god knows where they'll be in week or two :(

I know and it's only missing them. They are well and so am I so that's a positive. Didn't mean to come across all sad. I'm not really.

I see so much idiots shopping around wearing gloves. Am I the only one who sees that as a complete waste. The shopping trolley they push around could have the virus on the handle and you're only transferring what's on the trolley to what you touch and buy.

Gloves are only useful for cleaning, for opening door handles, pressing the buttons in elevators and on pedestrian crossings.
