    As much as I hate VP Pence for his beliefs, he seems to be doing a much better job portraying to the public than Trump does. Maybe Trump know's it's gonna be a ****storm, so he can blame Pence. On of the press conferences when Trump lined up all the CEO's for the circle jerk, only Pence mentioned washing your hands etc...

    I mean the population is 1.2B. But yeh, those that are already sick will get sicker if they catch this. Whether it devastates the continent is another thing. I bet that Africa will do much better than Europe, proportionally.

    Thousands in this country have already contracted COVID19 and recovered

    The amount of people experiencing shortness of breath over past 2 weeks including myself is unreal

    Presumably every patient has it... but hopefully nor all the staff have it. More space around beds hopefully means staff don't get any closer than they have to be

    Trump called for a travel ban from and to China at the end of January, Biden and the dems called that ' racism '. Could you image how worse it would be if Biden and the dems were in the Whitehouse ?

    I too realized today that I returned to car with gloves on , took out keys , opened boot put in the shop.     i don't find this stuff ocd at all. if you were working in a lab or intensive care unit, you'd have to follow same type of procedures to avoid contamination. it's all just very logical to me. a lot of people in ireland work in pharma companies. they must go through the same rigmarole daily in work so should be kind of used it.

    Is it maybe to stop viral load? Only thing I can think of - don't want the guy next to you infecting you even more and possibly with a different strain (tho I don't profess to know if that would have any bearing on it)

    No beside locker or light, no chair, just an oxygen bottle. Anyone brought in here will be in a pretty bad way. It's a sobering thought.

    If that's true there's something seriously wrong there. It's not replicated anywhere else. Not even a suggestion

    Yeah but unless you are given a vaccine (18 months off) or develop immunity, you’ll be doing this for a while!!

    I hope they do but not hard to see a million deaths with those types of illnesses. That's still devastation

    The USA has a population 5-6 times of many countries in Europe. By definition it should have 5-6 times the number of infected cases. If you look at number of cases per million the USA is on 79, whereas Spain is 545, Italy 886, Germany 267 etc.

    Trump will be blamed for this no matter what, and absolutely he deserves some criticism, but the US aren't doing any worse than some countries in Europe, I'd argue they're doing better than the UK with 75 million now under lockdown, closing schools much earlier. Their mortality rate is also quite good for its population so far. He didn't engage in nonsense herding like Boris did. If Trump deserves blame so do a lot other world leaders therefore.

    And anyone who thinks if a democrat were in charge and would've avoided the stock market collapsing, a recession and huge job losses are no more than a partisan hack. That doesn't mean Trump is the right man for the crisis right now, far from it, I'm not confident in him either.

    But those who are calling it the #trumpvirus and the "Trump pandemic" cynically cheering this on so they can get their beloved democrats are quite shameful. Bill Maher wanted a mass recession so perhaps he's got his wish.
