    He's right though.

What type of person does that? Live Tweets her mothers prolonged death.

    Not THAT is insensitive.

If it upsets you it's probably going to be a few long months for you.

Its a marathon, not a sprint.
Cafes around me are open. You can't sit in, you stand on the marked X on the ground in the shop, or on the pavement outside and they serve you with gloves on, or through a window. You can ring in your order either and they will bring it out to your car window. Couple of restaurants here are closed to the public, but offering to cater portions for ring-in orders.
It can be done, with ingenuity.

    I get your points...

I just think to “make sure,” you need to be tougher....

Social distancing is all grand but could someone have a word with the idiot roma going around in hordes in the lilac centre, manky kids running around and the piss head drunks in everywhere basically and let's not forget the skunks who remarkably have a good supply of masks and gloves . Funny thing the worst today was a Chinese girl rd l in a shop no effort at all.

It was the.UK that introduced an 80% income measure yesterday but it seems it only applies if the company DOESN'T lay off the worker and actually keep the job on ice (which may be impossible in and of itself?

I actually just parroted something my missus said when she got off phone with family. I'll verify now. Sorry :(

Wouldnt this give companies who are still operating (IT companies remotely from home etc) the option of slashing wages when they otherwise wouldnt have if this incentive did not exist?

The employees wouldn't be working through.

    They'd be "temporarily not working".

Big tech will want their employees working.

Yes I really don't think they're being clear on what needs to be done.
Has anyone been out and about in Dublin today, is it busy? Usually it's chock a block around here with people and traffic but I haven't gone anywhere today.

There are elements of society too thick to be able to behave accordingly, we just need to accept that. Those of us who know better should be staying at home though to flatten the curve.

Well if you are under 60 with no underlying conditions and you have a younger family then yes it is a huge relief.

It's a really weird thing to do, what people are doing at the moment, demanding to know whether someone had underlying conditions so that they can feel better about their own chances. Very, very weird. It's like when you hear someone got cancer and you ask if they were a smoker.

How do you know you - or someone in your family - don't have an underlying condition you're 'not aware of yet'?

In fairness it's hardly fair to hold someone who tweeted during the personal trauma of losing a loved one to the same standard as someone posting smart comments on a forum at a distance.

As I posted in other threads, not long back from a fortnight in Africa. Have been very ill with breathlessness, fever, myalgia, low oxygen saturation down to 82%, nausea, shivering, profuse sweating. In touch with doctor, to be tested, and to keep a very close eye on sats with my pulse oximeter from Aldi/Lidl. Malaria is also a possibility but less likely as the area I visited has an almost zero incidence, but I gave passed through areas of active Covid-19.
82 is very low. If I were you I'd be thinking about calling an ambulance. My son showed 85 last year and was struggling for breath and we took him to the doc who fairly promptly told us to go over to the paediatric unit in the hospital as he suspected pneumonia (same campus) and he'd call ahead to let them know we were on the way. Sure enough it was pneumonia and my son was in hospital for a week.

They always say that breathing issues can get out of hand quickly.

That story on BBC of four members of New Jersey family dieing from Coronavirus is very scary. A mother and three of her children.

According to family member Paradiso Fodera, 19 family members who attended the same dinner are now self-isolating, and have waited nearly a week to learn the results of their virus tests. "Why don't the family members who are not hospitalised have the test results? This is a public health crisis," Ms Fodera told CNN. She continued: "Why should athletes and celebrities without symptoms be given priority over a family that has been decimated by this virus?" "This is an unbearable tragedy for the family."

Can’t be terribly traumatic if you are live-tweeting it.

It doesnt upset me at all Mwengwe, youd want to have a very very sheltered life and sensitive disposition for a Tweet to upset you.

However, calling a Tweet like that out as narcissism seems to upset some people here, hence my comment.

well played Indo, this mornings headline is about some poor woman who died 'terrified' and 'alone'.

Its not the first time the Indo is guilty of this low level of reportage. A few weeks ago the headline was about the 80k - 100k of people who would contract this, and a week later on the front page was how there would be no funerals.

In a time where people need comforting and reassurance, and the country is going to pull together to help people try and get through this, the Indo is busy reminding us that there is no hope.

The Indo is for lighting the fire, and also if there is a toilet roll shortage.

I find it a bit odd, the same woman was tweeting her mother's demise. I don't agree this approach to reporting is good for the mental health of the nation.

Its human nature to worry about yourself and the ones closest to you. If we didnt have these figures then there would be absolute chaos. Could you imagine if this thing had a high child mortality rate.

You can't, it's strictly regulated, besides Ireland ceased printing money in 2019.

If you simply print more money, you create a false economy and prices inevitably rise creating a viscous circle.

I would class tweeting the (quite topical) death of a loved one as opportunistic attention seeking.

Im not the only one either.

Wasn't it just a few days after this that US Democrats cancelled Trump's impeachment so he could get on with planning for the impending disaster that everyone could clearly see coming. Well that's how I remember it anyway.

Why have you reprinted that tweet? That was literally a day or two after the very first death in Wuhan, when knowledge of the virus was extremely limited, even within the scientific community.

Clueless. Better off not posting about stuff you know nothing about, tbh.

Not scare mongering but was in same boat as yourself end of January ! Blood Oxygen was 82/83 breathing from top of lungs couldn’t catch breath. Rang MiDOC straight to hospital through A&E triage and into Emergency Dept for cat scans with dye injected and X-rays. Was a bad lungs chest and air ways infection which developed to a bad dose of pneumonia spent 6 days dependent on oxygen even for a loo visit had my little cab of oxygen to shell behind so GET CHECKED OUT. I’m only 40 !!
