Im sorry whats happened to you.

But it doesnt justify elbowing a 14 year old into the stomach.

If that can be justified so can physical abuse

I didn't assault him I put my elbow out to stop him getting close to me and he got more than I bargained for, the alternative was for me to be pushed off the narrow footpath in front of busy on coming traffic, highly dangerous behaviour on several levels on their part. Harmless horseplay? I don't think do.

I dont think it's the masks. I think it is policy of intervention, and a willingness of the population to comply.

Absolutely, hit the parents where it hurts by taking their child benefit off of them. Take so much directly from peoples wages /social welfare. Yes kids will be kids and shove each other around, but to deliberately shove someone into the path of a stranger deserves that kick up the arse as punishment in our “normal” life. It shouldn’t be acceptable in any society. During this current situation fines for letting kids out should be imposed and indeed to adults themselves if they are the ones outside terrorizing others. Stop making excuses for bad behavior, none of us are angels but how did we come to this situation where some people think they can do as they please with no consequences... We are not fighting for our freedom, that fight was fought for us by many people a lot braver then we will ever be, we are fighting for our lives.. Stay Inside.

WHO reiterated today that there was no need for the general public to wear masks.

Earlier today I wrote an article for Irish Tech News detailing how social media is being used for good in these strange days. I also mention a fantastic online concert that is taking place this Sunday. https://irishtechnews.ie/social-media-and-covid-19/
Any chance they have room in the budget for a copyeditor?

Doctor said no point when I went on Wednesday as I had a cough/symptoms for 2 weeks and would not test positive even if I had it. Left work as started to get the tightness and breathlessness when working.

I have to self isolate until next Thursday.

Just listened to an NHS doctor on BBC 5 Live. He believes it will be a miracle if the UK escapes with 20’000 deaths. Truly frightening.

Far higher I would say. I predicted 10k in Ireland alone at the very start of this thread, although playing out over 1 or 2 years.

I hope now with the interventions we can keep it under that.

Masks maybe a factor but they have different societies where everyone will self sacrifice for the greater good.

Here a lot of people get that and will self sacrifice but as you can see with pubs still open and teenagers in groups, house parties etc a lot of people won't play ball and are me feiners.

I have been diagnosed with a chest infection, cause unknown. Could be bacterial or Corvid-19. I have tightness in my chest, pain when I breathe deeply and shortness of breath.

Does it sound like caw caw caw? Sorry, couldn't help it.
I wish you well..These are nervous days.

We had this convo earlier why would a medic wear it to protect themselves and not the public if the person knows how to put it on and take it off

How can uk government cover 80% of an unemployed person’s salary. God forgive me but almost want to be laid off so I can collect this without having to carry on working.

You'll have to ask the experts.

A cure will come, as will a vaccine eventually.
This year is going to be rough though.

A gradual spread after lifting social isolation, allow immunity to be built in a controlled way, then impose isolation again. Rinse and repeat.

I disagree : I think the issue of teenagers congregating and people sneaking into pubs is hugely overstated. I've seen vast compliance with social distancing for the last few days.

I looked up some articles and (healthy) people build up the antibodies pretty quickly and will not shed the virus after roughly 10 days of showing symptoms. So would show up as negative in any tests.

There needs to be active virus present for the current type of testing

Please look it up yourself, I've no source to hand and am going to sleep.

This is the reason for self isolation for 14 days.

In Illinois here and the place has gone into a sort of lockdown for three weeks.

Basically just supermarkets, petrol stations and Phamarcies open.

    Even parks are shut.

Non essential businesses are all forced to close.

    Well thats less invasive.
    I interpreted you incorrectly.
I wish you good steed. This thing we are witnessing hasn't seen this likes of in over 100 years, and I hope never again

Yeah I'd imaagine its not only about the function of the masks, but also the attitudes of the people who choose to wear masks when sick. They are mindful of spreading their illness, as evidenced by the mask wearing while interacting with others, so it would make sense that they also wash hands appropriately and take other precautions.
Could be way off on that though!

Me too. City is like a quiet Sunday, every day.
    People are complying. I'm impressed.

You don't actually get it if you are laid off is the report at the mo.

It's a carrot.for the company to keep you on the books. If they properly sack you or.go under then I don't think you get it.

I’m still finding this so surreal!
I think this stage is difficult because its “ the calm before the storm” and everybody is questioning and waiting to see how bad it’s going to get.
It’s very hard to sit around and wait and hope that everything put in place is enough.

    Masks are optional obviously.
But I think they would work if they were fitted with the proper filters.

If someone was rasping, coughing and spluttering in front of you and you had a proper mask on.
No way would the virus get into your airwaves.
Those filters if used accordingly will stop anything getting through your nose or mouth except oxygen.

Any pr1ck who recommends proper masks are useless needs a good kick up the hole.

Although rubbing vasaline on where it connects with the skin and being clean shaven can be an advantage.

We're not far off that here. When I went out for a walk today of the 30 or so businesses I past only 4 were open, a garage, a chemist, a supermarket and the other essential an off license.
