    Driving around Galway this morning. People are not understanding the importance of social distancing. Groups of young mothers with kids walking around and chatting away. Hardware stores full of tradesmen chatting away in the back stores. Daughters with older parents out walking around Loughrea, Galway city and Tuam. Pharmacy retail staff looking really anxious and scared, trying to be as stern as possible without being rude to elderly customers who are ignoring spacing marks on floors and around tills and basically telling staff they are over exaggerating.
    Two coffee shops in Athenry open and half full if elderly customers and mothers with small children.

    It's a real eye opener and it seems to me that people between the ages of 30 to 50 seem to be taking the instructions seriously but those either side of this bracket are not.

    Local radio stations are packed full of callers complaining about non-adherence to the requests from the HSE.

    From what I am seeing, we badly need strict enforcement of the guidelines or there will be a serious amount of dumb bewilderment among those who really don't care when their loved ones begin to die or become seriously ill and they will be scratching their heads wondering why.

    It makes me laugh you ll see em all with the"STAYHOME" ****e all over there facebook but the same ****in clowns will be out chattin away like nothings happening or ignoring symptoms.. because for some reason... some people seem to think this virus only happens to other people.

    A family member returned from the UK last night. He said the ferry was packed with UK cars. There were no checks when he disembarked.

    I wonder how many are leaving the UK because of the current policies there. I also wonder how many are bringing the virus with them.

    I think they should bring in on the spot fines. Some people only understand things when it hits them where it hurts. Relying on common sense or decency is not an effective strategy given that neither seem to be in particular abundance.

    What checks are you expecting as they disembark? Virus has an incubation period.

    RTE needs to start showing the real story in Italy. I went my local tesco yesterday for our weekly supllies, I was the only one wearing gloves. I didnt use a basket of trolly, just my own bags. It was quite busy,, lots of people just buying a few bits.

    What I think they got wrong is telling people to shop as normal, thats crazy alot of folk shop many times a week. Thats increasing risk, increasing the numbers in shops etc.

    Once a week should be the limit. I saw that video of the chinese red cross rep speaking about the italian lockdown not being strict enough. We arnt doing enough
