Symptoms since Thurs evening/ Friday. Self isolating since Friday evening.

Was refered as a " fast track " patient for the swab test as I have an underlying illness, I was in London the week before, my mam had a transplant and cause I work in HC.

I was refered THREE times by my occ health nurse so I can be cleared and go back to work in the hospital i work in. My nurse contacted them herself today on behalf of the hospital and my consultant who refered me and no hope.

Rang the national ambulance service 4 times today and no help at all. I know they're doing the best they can but I'm just stressed now about my mum and not being in work where I'm needed ! So so anxious unfortunately and the self isolation jaysus my anxiety is out the roof. Midnight walks helping but I'm not sleeping now so back to my old anxiety pattern up til 6/630am. Plan on setting alarm for 10 am so I'll be wrecked for next sleep ugh

Sorry I know people have it a LOTTT worse but it's ****e being a sitting duck knowing what all my co workers are going through and I'm sitting in my room on netflix

No, italy has one of, if not the, oldest population in Europe who go around kissing each other on the cheek.

That, and we’re only getting started here.

Hopefully we can learn what works from others and try to keep our numbers low.

I wonder if that will stop and even hand shakes becoming a thing of the past. Wouldn't be surprised

I’m adopting the same behaviour I had when living in Asia. Shoes left outside. About 5 showers a day. And walking around the house (self isolating by myself) in a kimono. Seriously all I need is a pina colada and a cigar and I would be the spit of Del Boy.

That may lower your body's capacity to withstand infection.

I am a landlord and was quite surprised that my tenants paid their rent this month. They both work in hotels and I am presuming that their jobs are at risk. They are amazing tenants and have been in the apartment for 6 or 7 years with no issue and minimal contact. Whatever the banks decide to do (apartment is mortgaged) and if they lose their jobs and cannot pay rent, i will not penalise them. Hopefully there is a mortgage pause but if there isn’t I will take the hit. I can’t cover it but hopefully will be able to capitalise the arrears when this is over.

If they don’t lose jobs carry on as normal. Any landlord who tries to evict is a pr1ck. Houses and profit at times like this is irrelevant.

I don't mind paying double next year, just let us get over this first. The last thing people want is to get sick and then have bills over us.

any guess what our numbers will be today, I'm saying around 130 new cases,
(i thought lower, but not sure how much extra testing is taking place, or how it'd affect it)

Not really feasible normally when front door opens directly to busy street but not caring about robbed shoes at the moment. Obviously people are scared of touching others clothes so not a big risk

This isn't going to really change anything in my opinion except for the fallout of the economics of it.

People all around the world manage to not wear shoes inside without leaving them outside their door?

Fair play to them. Not sure the relevance. I said I was doing what I used to do while living in Asia. It’s not something I did previously and not something I advocated anyone else to do. What other people around the world do is not my concern. I am doing whatever I think reduces the risk of bringing it into my house.

As an aside, I genuinely think I've had this in December / January, or at least a weaker version of it.

I looked back at messages I sent when I was very sick and then I vividly remember being worried about how I used to vape because my chest was sore for a good while. Loads of people around me had it and I was even wearing a mask because I was coughing so much before ending up bedridden for around four days. It was the worst I've ever been sick but I didn't think it was the flu. My brother here had it as well but not as bad.

Since I'm only a few hundred miles from China and we share a land border, it seems entirely plausible. In my near decade here, I've never seen so many people sick with what what was much worse than a cold but not full on flu.

Anyone know the wait time to get a test and then results, I was put on test list Wednesday evening by doctor due to contact with a positive person. No symptoms and it’s been over a week since contact.

I thought same but looks like a different strain known as AH. Also the deaths from it were only on high side of normal. https://www.hpsc.ie/news/newsarchive/2019newsarchive/title-18727-en.html

Have people taken to breathing on each others shoes as a greeting?

Other than the usual issue of walking dog crap into your house, what's so risky about shoes and spreading the virus?

Well if that's the case, then I'm happy I've had it because I'd hate to have something else make me sick now.

Well some of it is psychological and when coming in I strip off as anything I have read said clothes can hold onto germs. But I had thought of someone getting sick in a supermarket and although mopped up, I could walk through it. So leaving them outside is a preventative measure. I a, doing everything I can think of.maybe overboard but it is not hurting anyone.

United States likely to pass Iran, Spain and Germany today in new cases to become the world's 3rd most affected country.

Yes. US is on a very scary path/curve!

New York being the epicentre with 5,712 cases/38 deaths (as of yesterday).

I’ve a family member with cough, chills and waiting since Monday. No word. Think there is a big backlog. The person they live with has no symptoms so hopefully just a cold/flu
