    In line with the announcement by government yesterday, the National Transport Authority confirms that public transport services will continue to run as normal next week with regular updates to be provided over the coming days.

    Flight change fee removed from 13th March until 31st March

    Dear customer,

    We continue to operate a reduced flight schedule to ensure that those customers who still wish to travel or return home can do so. In the coming weeks we expect that Governments may impose further changes to our flight schedule and any effected customers will be notified by email. We will continue to comply fully with all WHO and EASA guidelines and we will follow any travel restrictions that are imposed.

    However, we understand there is uncertainty around travel at this time, so if you currently have a booking with us in March and you would now prefer not to fly then from today (Fri 13 Mar), you can now change your flight online and we will waive the flight change fee. This applies to all existing and new bookings until Tues 31 March. Should there be a difference in fare you’ll need to pay this - however by waiving the change fee, we want to ensure you have more flexibility to change your travel plans.

    Where we’ve been required to cancel flights, customers will be able to transfer to an alternative Ryanair flight free of charge or receive a refund.

    Update from the NTA
    The National Transport Authority has today engaged with all public transport operators and can confirm that public transport services continue to operate as normal throughout the country bar a limited number of commercial services.

    Iarnród Éireann, Dublin Bus, Bus Éireann, Go-Ahead Ireland, Luas and Local Link services will be implementing their normal schedule of services on the Saturday, 14th March and Sunday, 15th March. Other than St Patrick’s Day on the 17th March, public transport services will run a normal scheduled service next week.

    In addition, a number of Local Link services are offering to deliver critical medical supplies to the elderly, the vulnerable and sick within rural areas during the coming weeks. Those in need of such support should contact their Local Link provider.

    Overall, the NTA has witnessed a reduction of between 15-20% in passenger number on public transport in recent days. The Authority will continue to monitor transport patterns and will respond with the operators.

    Each public transport operator has established an internal coordination group who are meeting daily to monitor developments around COVID-19 and continually update existing business contingency plans. Any actions being taken by the NTA and public transport operators will be guided by the National Public Health Emergency Team and the advice of the Chief Medical Officer.

    To assist commuters in using public transport during this time, HSE information is being displayed on buses, trams and trains and in stations across the country.

    Public transport operators have actively communicated the public health advice on respiratory etiquette and hand hygiene to passengers and staff. We are aware of the HSE advice to practice social distancing and passengers are asked to be mindful of this when considering the use of public transport.

    All customer service channels remain open and are being monitored during business hours by public transport staff.

    Public transport operators remain in constant communication with all public transport employees to provide health advice. The Authority has been advised that all public transport vehicles and stations are being cleaned in accordance with infection control measures as issued by the Health Surveillance Protection Centre.

    In the coming days and weeks, the NTA and its network of operators will continue to engage with, and be closely guided by, the relevant health agencies.

    Wexford Bus is closely following the public health advice issued by the authorities in relation to the coronavirus (COVID-19). Keeping our staff and customers healthy and safe whilst doing our best to minimise the risk to all is our top priority.

    We are taking all necessary precautions and have made a decision to reduce capacity by 50% on all coaches from Sunday March 15th, thus allowing passengers 2 seats per person. We are also asking our customers to play their part. Please read the information below before travelling with us:


    Can I travel with Wexford Bus?

    The majority of our services are operating as normal. The only exception is that Route 376 (Wexford to Carlow) has been suspended until further notice. In addition, we have reduced capacity by 50% on all coaches from Sunday 15th of March to allow 2 seats per passenger.


    How Can Customers Help?

    To reduce cash handling, please book in advance by clicking here or use your Leap Card or Free Travel Pass.
    If using a Leap Card or Free Travel pass please present this directly to the ticket machine as shown by the driver.
    If you need to cough or sneeze please do so into your elbow and if possible clean your hands afterwards with hand sanitiser.
    Kindly avoid leaving any tissues or other items behind you.


    What actions has Wexford Bus Taken?

    We are monitoring the public health advice issued by the authorities in relation to the coronavirus.
    The capacity has been reduced by 50% on all coaches from Sunday 15th of March to allow 2 seats per passenger.
    Wexford Bus is cleaning and disinfecting all buses and coaches after each service paying particular attention to frequently touched surfaces.
    Customers are asked to keep the first row free.


    What happens if I decide not to travel?

    If you decide not to travel, we can extend your ticket up to the end of the year (until you know your new travel date). Please email info@wexfordbus.com with your Booking ID and the name on the ticket at least 24 hours before you are due to travel and we will change this for you. There is no charge for this.

    Some Aircoach service cancellations and timetable adjustments:

    In order to play our part in curbing this virus and due to a significant reduction in the demand for some of our services, Aircoach will be temporarily amending service levels to some of our routes from Saturday 21st March.

    700 Leopardstown service will have a 30 minute frequency instead of every 15 minutes and further reductions during the night services.
    702 Greystones service will be temporarily suspended. This would make the last journey from Greystones departing 23:10 on 20/03/2020 and the last journey departing from Dublin airport 23:05 on 20/03/20:20.
    703 Killiney service will be temporarily suspended. This would make the last journey from Killiney departing 23:55 on 20/03/2020 and the last journey departing from Dublin airport 23:35 on 20/03/2020.

    For the time being, 704X Cork and 705X Belfast routes will operate as normal and we ask all passengers to ensure to follow the HSE guidelines of social distancing while in a public place.

    Unfortunately we have had to temporarily suspend our services between Dublin Airport and Dublin City. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

    Further Updates from Aircoach

    704/705 suspended from Monday.
    Hi there,

    As per the updates I have provided earlier this week, I write to you today to advise of further changes to Aircoach service levels owing to the reduction in the number of passengers traveling. The following changes will come in from Tuesday 24th March.

    Amendments to Service
    Services 704X Cork and 705X Belfast will be suspended entirely following last departures on Monday 23rd March. There will be no services from Tuesday 24th March.

    These changes will be in addition to those I've previously advised you about which are as follows:-

    - 700 Leopardstown service will have a 30 minute frequency instead of every 15 minutes and further reductions during the night services from Saturday 21st March.
    - 702 Greystones services have been suspended from Saturday 21st March.
    - 703 Killiney services have been suspended from Saturday 21st March.

    We understand that plans are changing and flexibility is required for your peace of mind at this time, which is why if you are unsure of your future travel plans, we will be happy to amend dates on tickets for future use. If you do not yet know the date for travel in 2020, we will amend your ticket to 1st October 2020. This means that your ticket has been deferred to a date to be confirmed by you and can be used before December 31st 2020. All you need to do is let us know (at info@aircoach.ie ) that you'd like to defer travel within 2020 and then inform us again nearer the time and we will amend your travel date. You can book your tickets for Aircoach with confidence, knowing that we have flexibility and will support your needs at this time.

    Safety, Hygiene and Social Distancing
    We understand this is a worrying time for the public and I want to reassure you that your safety, and the safety of our drivers is at all times paramount to us.

    The Aircoach fleet is kept to a very high standard in terms of cleanliness and our drivers are operating strict hand sanitising practices. We are also encouraging contactless payments which are available on all our routes and coaches to minimise physical contact. In order to keep social distancing, we are also asking our customers to seat one passenger per block of two seats.
