    +5,322 cases/+427 deaths.

    Horrific stuff

Good to see the death toll drop by a good bit in Italy at least, nearly 50 less than yesterday.

Boris is bumbling away again. How could you have any confidence in him?

Italy now have more reported deaths then China. Reported an important word there. Terrifying
Not a hope in hell China's figures are true

How far behind Italy are we supposed to be ?

I really thought we’d be seeing a decline in their numbers right about now. Seems as though they’re still reaching their peak unfortunately. Hopefully this is it now and the decline will start!

    Out of control!

Only small consolation is deaths are down slightly today, but if cases keep rising (as they have done today) death rate will follow.

I always liked him, I like him even more now that he annoys you so much. You're definitely doing something right Joe if you got at this one.:pac:

Even normally sensible people are failing to get exactly what social distancing means. A friend phoned to invite me to a St P's day dinner with her and he husband, just the three of us. She's a schoolteacher, I'd been in a supermarket and a bank the day before*, their kitchen is big but their table is table-sized. I said no. Another friend phoned for a chat, said if the weather stayed nice we'd be able to meet up for tea in the garden if we sat 2 metres apart. And I was thinking, who touches the cups, who does the washing up, what if either of us coughs on the biscuits, what if that Chinese bus with the 4.5 metre spread is typical?, so I said no again.

I'd rather not make my lovely friends sick, I'd rather not catch anything from them, and this bug has an incubation period of 14 days or more with potential presymptomatic spread. The message needs to be spelled out a lot more explicitly. I'm a bit worried that we're too relaxed.

*Won't need to do that again for a couple of months I hope, village Spar for the immediate future, if that.

Can't believe he actually said "the cloak of Invisibility"

Ignoring idiots who comment "far right" because they don't even know what it means

What is that clown coming out with now, reintroduce wolves to stop the virus?

No, just odd. Cracking jokes and talking in yarns. Not jokes, as in being insensitive, just trying to be very witty...it came across very odd..

Gas, I come onto this thread for an update. Scroll back and all you read is SF bashing. Did you guys not get your fill of that when they won the election? Cop onto yourselves, there are more important issues to be worried about now.

Or else the effect of people fleeing south before the northern lockdowns is starting to take effect

Not that I voted for SF but, that's a very cynical, ignorant, uneducated and false attitude/point of view.

My God, literally villages and towns being wiped out in Italy daily, its heartbreaking and scary.

Very worried about the UK on our doorstep taking such a relaxed attitude, its too close to home. I don't think any of us will have ever lived through anything that looks like coming in the next few weeks.

What your missing there is nearly 500 extra beds became available the day before with the hope of extending life, they'll be full now and the toll goes up again.

    Question for the mods.
I wonder is it time to open a sub forum to discuss the new Govt Emergency Powers Bill?

Not pleased in the slightest but i think we shouldn’t have played along with it - you went to Cheltenham? Hope you enjoyed it, now stay in the U.K. for 2 months because you are not coming back. We are doing so much here to combat it and being undermined by ****ing idiots across the pond from us

There's personal responsibility here for sure for people who travelled from Ireland to the UK for Cheltenham, our government is equally to blame for not bringing in measures to quarantine people on their return.

Yes important issues they should stay the **** out of ,I’m in no way a FG supporter but they are handling this brilliantly.

    China's numbers are not legit,

Far more than 3400 died there.

No I'm not. I wasn't talking about British people, I'm talking about eejits (some in the media) in this country that fawn over things British. There's nothing xenophobic about what I said. Don't be using big words you don't understand unless you're capable of placing them in the correct context.

No. It'll be another week or so before we see the effects of the lockdown.
