In I, Borg, although the script and the other actors gave us a story of a borg being humanised by friendship, Del Arco totally played it as his being humanised/transformed by falling in love with Geordie (the way he says his name, that sidelong look at the end).

Oh I totally picked up on that. For the Picard greeting scene in "Picard", I fully expected him to ask "Is Geordi here too?" with a puppy dog eyes expression.

How Picard is portrayed in this series was down to Patrick Steward, he said he would only do it if they approached it in a similar way to Logan.. and he wasn't going to wear any uniform. There is a great interview he did on happy sad confused where he talks about all of this

Just noticed there now that episode 9 and 10 are the one episode in two parts.

How can you have a 2-parter finale in a serialised show that is essentially a 10-parter??????

Show gets dumber every week

I dont think it get Dumber, but you're right. A two parter as part of a ten parter does strike me as baffling.

Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue

2 part final episodes are typical enough on TV, don't quite get the annoyance here? Even the nomenclature usually Blah Part 1 and 2.

Standard fare! A cliffhanger in the 2nd last episode, before a huge cliffhanger in the final episode :)

The episodes are already running directly from one into the other. It's stupid.

Again, much like most serialised shows. I get some folk hate Picard, but this is all boilerplate stuff for TV, so raging on it just looks a bit petty. 2 part finales, even in serialised shows, are normal.

Have fans ever reacted well to any Star Trek show ?

No new iteration of anything has ever pleased 100% of people who were already fans of that thing.

Why are you watching it so? All I have seen from you about every episode is negativity. If you don't like it and think its dumb then stop watching it. I know I would if I thought a show was stupid or dumb. I always give shows that I think might interest me a change first do.

Two shows that I tried but are absolute rubbish is

    Mutant X

and for a more recent one even the name is crap

    Breeders.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

Why? Is this show getting negative?

I was going to reply with the same thing then I decided I should probably follow my own advice and added him to my ignore list instead.

I think it's pretty bad too and pretty much only still watching it to see how bad it gets.

Complaining about having two part finales seems especially asinine. I've tended to avoid sniffing at negative points of view - not like this show hasn't big flaws - but cribbing about what's standard in serialised TV betrays obvious axes to be ground

I’m glad people are enjoying it. Unfortunately it isn’t for me. Really really dislike it.

Frakes has always been a big guy, I thought he looked well considering he's settled down outside of Star fleet. He looked worse in Enterprise where he was squeezed back in to uniform for the holodeck episode.

You are entitled to your views but I like it overall. I agree they should have done it ten years ago . The cast is good. The script moves along. It's darker than TNG but overall sci fi is darker. Hell, everything is darker !

I'm happy to see Trek move forward again in time. I liked Discovery but have had enough of prequels. Star trek went South with Voyager but completely tanked with Enterprise

Hrmmmm... *remembers TNG Borg episodes* .. what if it's a THREE parter!

Sure you can hate the show, free country and there's plenty wrong with the season, but giving off about episode titles is silly, and just comes off like you're searching for reasons to dump on the show *shrug* it's like giving off that the show has a Credits sequence.

That was such a great cliffhanger. The only thing that bugged me was how long it took to charge up. They should have had it charging and a loud noise as it charged and then when Riker said Mr Worf fire it would end and next episode would start with a view outside and the deflector firing then inside to the bridge.

Im watching Lost in Space at the moment , Its more interesting than Picard. Sad!

    Your resistance is hopeless....Number One.

I always loved that last part. It felt like the closest we'd ever get to seeing The Borg giving Starfleet the middle finger :D

If the finale is a two-parter shown on separate weeks, then isn’t the second of those really the finale anyway?

Some of this is good and some isn’t. A bit like all the shows really (there’s some great stuff in Enterprise and I love Voyager anyway). The gore put me off for a while but I’m glad they didn’t do much more and I went back to it.
