They are in control of their own borders.
    And their own news.

There's a sh1t tonne of cases in Australia considering they have relatively high temperatures. I'm starting to think this "higher temperatures" line is fake news.

That was always just speculative. Something that might happen.

I've heard of people using social media to sell hand sanitiser to worried parents at greatly inflated prices.
These parents are at home most of the day with access to hot water and soap for both themselves and their children and people have convinced them to use the inferior hand sanitiser and to pay greatly for the privilege.

    what is 'nationality' anyway?

I’m sorry, do you think the word ‘nationality’ can’t be defined?

But are these in air-conditioned nursing homes or amoung the general population,

oz has a huuuge asian population and shouldve had a outbreak ages ago

Surely if the virus is coated in fat-type liquid,it stands to reason it cant survive in heat on surfaces??

In Thread six I stated the below :

NOW a medical device manufacturer, the creator of the valve has threatened to sue the group of volunteers who saved so many lives. And because of this the creator of the 3D file used to recreate the valve, will not share the fule to other hospitals that are need of them. The valve roughly cost the volunteers €1 to make while the valve is sold by the US manufacturer markets for €10,000. Why am I not surprised. Source

    Such F*ckery

Countries are allowed to disregard drug patents in health emergencies and just manufacture whatever they need. I think it highly likely the Italian government would(should) step in and say they indemnify the enterprising person and tell the US company, 'take it up with us.'

I think more and more fcukery is going to become evident. C4 news just reported that doctors in private clinics in Harley Street in London are doing tests for the virus for £375 but nurses on the frontline cant get access to tests.

The Italian figures of cases have to be way off. 35,000 confirmed cases but only a 17% increase today which is comparatively good news.

Given that Varadkar is saying we will have 15,000 by the end of the month, and 35,000 has completely overwhelmed the Italian health care system, something is very wrong considering we have 8% of the population of Italy (and therefore a health system with 8% of the capacity).

35,000 cases in Italy would be equivalent to 2,800 cases here (in terms of health service pressure)

There must have been between 250,000 and 500,000 cases in Italy, it's the only way these numbers can make any sense.

I don't think it was ever any "news" - it was suggested that some of these bugs thrive in colder temperatures, but any parallels drawn with this were always speculative

I had to sign up here to ask if anyone knows what happens after being referred. I'm in Dublin but I don't drive and my 4yo needs to be swabbed. I can't see a taxi volunteering to bring me up to croke park, not that I'd risk it anyway. But do they still come out and swab at home? I'm awaiting the HSE to contact me in regards to an appointment but I can't seem to get answers from anyone about this today.
    is he being treated?

Over 400 in Italy. And there’s no sign of that Italian curve levelling off.

Re, the naming of diseases problem.

Covid has caused a minor problem already.
Norm Carson, the president of AV equipment company Covid, Inc., told Wired his company was bombarded with calls this week:

“We make high-end wall plates and cables for the commercial market, and we’ve worked really hard to build our brand and build good products,” Carson says. “So any time you’re associated with a worldwide pandemic, I think it’s something to be concerned about.”

A bad name for an illness can be dangerous and deadly
