I believe these WHO rules were introduced recently? possibly because China has them by a lead?

MERS = Middle East respiratory syndrome

Nobody seems to have the problem with MERS name

2015, and to note they are not actually rules, simply a guideline.

Terrible indeed but where in it does she mention coronavirus? She seems to be talking about smoking. Not saying she hasn’t got it but we’ve seen in the past how certain things can be framed

It's an old video. Nothing to do with corona virus.

Really? FFS this fake news is messed up.

It's the same as when he says stupid names like "tiny Mike, sleepy Joe or Pochahantas" he wants those words to stick in his core.supporters minds.

Yes it probably is, but though I loath and detest the scumbag, through no credit whatsover to the POS, and of no credit to him whatsoever, it is a fact that naming Flu and other pandemics with a geographical descriptor, is a practice that has been followed, off and on, for just over a century. Spanish Flu, Hon Kong Flu, Brisbane flu, etc.

    Exhibit A:
The EU said Russia pushed fake news online in English, Spanish, Italian, German and French, with contradictory and malicious reports to make it harder during the coronavirus crisis.

"They haven’t changed track at all. They are implementing measures at the rate that suits them, as they made clear from the outset.

But how does any of this undermine what the Irish government is doing? "

Are you officially employed to do PR for the British Government by any chance?
You must be with your line that they are implementing measures at the rate that suits them. They have realised they made a mess of it with their approach,
So they have changed by tack, by now adopting measures advised by the WHO and other leading experts in the field of infectious diseases, which we and other nations have already been doing. The UK Government is now playing catch up, because the "Science has changed". I know you are so blinkered Aegir that you'll continue to protest to the contrary, and insist anyone criticising the Uk Governments handling of this could only be anti brexit and looking to score points, because you can't accept that people might just be annoyed by the UK's cock up of this crisis.

    It started in China.

That doesn’t answer my question. What properties of the virus make it Chinese? Viruses don’t have a nationality, as anyone with more than two brain cells knows. What classifies the virus as Chinese?

Do you think we'll ever get a break down of numbers in each county??

They will be releasing a weekly report from this week (Friday I think) with a county by county breakdown and also info around the source (community vs. travel related etc.)

Really? FFS this fake news is messed up.

Look at it critically. She doesn't mention anything about corona. The only mention of it was the tweet. One person frames it as a covid 19 video maliciously, then it spreads through fear.

All the evidence out there is that Soap & Hot water are better anyway - Hand Sanitiser is supposed to be used "when you don't have access to soap/water"

I was supposed to be seeing my Haemotologist nest Tuesday for my first checkup since I finished my cancer treatment last Halloween. I got a text earlier today asking for my Skype details as all clinics for the foreseeable future are going to be virtual clinics. Expect this to be happening all over the country.

Again, everyone is calling it the Coronavirus, not the Chinese virus.
Why is he trying to change the name?
We all know it started in China and now it's global.

Trump was ahead of the posse in banning entry of Chinese to the USA even if it was more to do with his trade war with China. He was however extremely negligent in dealing with the spread of the virus otherwise calling it a democratic hoax. So he is now calling it the Chinese virus to make himself look good. As with everything else, it is all about

That they are Irish by nationality. What a daft comparison. Seriously like. Unless you think ‘nationality’ can’t be defined?

Or use some moisturiser on your hands.
Garnier one with maple syrup is good!

Hand sanitizer only when no sink obviously

Hands are in bits from the alcohol sanitiser. Just going touse thr soap from now on.

Alcohol will seriously dry out your skin.
Everyone should be using soap and hot water as much as possible and not hand sanitiser. But if you are out and about most the day it can't be helped.

Bring some moisturiser with you and use it a few times throughout the day

There's a sh1t tonne of cases in Australia considering they have relatively high temperatures. I'm starting to think this "higher temperatures" line is fake news.
