I'm probably a little lost to be honest.
I've used contactless payment with the AIB and I don't have google or apple pay.

Google pay and apple pay allow you to pay using your phone you just tap your phone rather than your car it also has the advantage of having no 30 limit

Trump and the USA have at last started to take this pandemic seriously with 7,568 known cases today.

China started their lock down of Wuhan and Hubei Provence when they had 495 known cases.

China has had 80,894 cases and 3,237 deaths to date, with 2,622 still in a critical condition

It is well recognized that testing for the virus in the USA has been totally inadequate, so the 7,568 is almost certainly an underestimate.

I shudder to think what the final US death toll will be, particularly when you mix health care system collapse, really difficult triage decisions and guns into the mixture.

Questioned on the study {published in The Lancet} by reporters in Geneva, WHO spokesman Christian Lindmeier said that experts were "looking into this to give further guidance."
"In the meantime, we recommend using rather paracetamol, and do not use ibuprofen as a self-medication. That's important," he said.

There's lots of reports of reports of reports.

    Anything from the horses mouth?

I know, I'm cynical but if the WHO are making such recommendations why can't I find them on the WHO info pages?

What are the chances of hotels/restaurants closing and public transport being stopped? Really hope it doesn’t get to that stage

Apparently it's only closing due to the Trade Union...Just talking to my mate, whose mother is a manager in a City Centre Store
Well it's not because of staff shortages in their factories seeing as children are unaffected.

    Alright, thanks for that.
I know a few people. One I'm trying to get sorted with a debit card, etc and the €50 limit will suit them.

Already happening in Limerick, majority of restaurants and some major hotels already shut. Public transport should be next - who in their right mind would take a bus with this going on?

It has nothing to do with point scoring, People are worried because the UK approach till the about turn risks undermining ours, you seemingly can't accept that people might have valid criticism of the UK's approach to this crisis, why is this Aegir? .

Because what I said is true.

There was no about turn, the U.K. has its plans to combat this just as Ireland does. Both governments are doing what it right for their own country.

Which is how it should be.

TSB don’t support them either but I just use Revolut with Apple Pay to get around it.

This does not work in Tesco, they are still in the stone age with their systems.

Wouldn't go through last night and had to put in physical chip and pin.

Does anyone have the link to the guy on twitter who compares Ireland and Italy in terms of cases?

Recommended reading for isolation: Margaret Atwood’s ‘Oryx and Crake’ which features a pandemic. Jean Paul Sartre’s ‘No Exit’. depiction of the afterlife in which three deceased characters are punished by being locked into a room together for eternity.

The average age of those who died is very high because younger people are completely prioritised, it is important not take from this that it is only dangerous for very old people, as it will result in complacency amongst younger people. It clearly can be very dangerous to people as young as their 50's and 60's.

Dr Holohan says he doesn't expect social distancing to impact for a few days yet. The numbers will keep shooting up but it's around Sunday onward that we need to be watching for.

Just saw there that they're only testing those who are hospitalised in Northern Ireland? What's the logic there?
