Even fully healthy people cough and sneeze. And yawn. And put their hands in their mouth/nose and then touch things.

One doesn't even have to be half way across the world, I have children living in Europe and it might as well be Timbuktu now. I know from talking with friends it is having children living in the US or anywhere at all abroad that makes them emotional right now. People say, what if anything happens to them or us. These are sobering things, how in a week or two the choice of going to see or help family becomes impossible.
