Is it possible that people could contract this and recover without ever knowing they had it?
Or are the symptoms eventually undeniable?

Who else is in work tomorrow?
Yes and I cannot wait! Never thought I'd say that.

So I got laid off work today (tourism and hospitality industry) and while I was told it should be temporary they were unable to say for how long.

So in all honesty, are we expecting the current situation with schools, working from home, social distancing and so on to go on longer than March 29th?
I'm hoping once things go back to 'normal' that my workload will snap back! Seems naive though to think that would be 12 days from now

I think yes it will go on longer than March 29th

I think it's time you took over and manage it correctly.

The initial management in Ireland, and Europe in general, was diabolically bad. Absolutely embarrassing.

However the Irish government seems to be finally pulling its act together. I think it's appropriate to give them our confidence at this stage. We need national consensus.

Just back from a drive around Sandymount, Dun Laoghaire and Dalkey. We stayed in the car. The roads were busy. Can’t complain about that as we were contributing to it. But not much social distancing happening in any of the scenic areas we passed by to be honest. There was quite a lot of people out and about.

Went for a drive around Howth, Clontarf around 3ish, traffic was mental coming back around 4.30.. saw quite a lot of people out walking dogs, just with friends and some families out walking too, was very busy.

Thinking people just grateful to get out in the mild fresh air and away from the television... worst thing you can do is be a doom and gloom merchant, stuck to the news, the statistics, inhaling all of it, live your life, be real, ok cautious but we’ll survive...

But if they named the counties would that not then lead to people locating to counties with no virus and then spreading the virus further?

If for example Co. Clare was showing clear in 2 weeks time and I'm in Dublin with a through the roof number I'd certainly be heading west with my flask, sleeping bag and possibly a dose of the virus.
Mightn't be brightest idea you'll have. Lot of underutilised cáman in Clare at present.

Thank you, I agree. I am sick at the idea of managing on €203 per week with rent and a 5 year old to think about.
Really worried right now but I totally understand it is nobody's fault and it's absolutely in everyone's best interest to stay inside and slow the spread. Just a ****e situation all round.

Not sure if much help but Lidl are recruiting extra staff at the moment across most stores, worth applying for if it suits

Lots do. The vast majority of the rest have mild symptoms

I do understand that but social distancing needs to be taken seriously. Some of us immunocompromised people might not survive.

That poster has been particularly negative anytime I've read their posts. They seem to advocate the total and utter lockdown of the country since last week.

Personally, I believe that the government have been excellent so far. They've taken appropriate action and communicated well so nothing has been a shock to the system. There is nothing in the numbers so far to suggest that it has been mismanaged. We've a long, long way to go of course and we can probably judge the response properly at the end of this but I think they've done very well so far with the information to hand.

The WHO also think that and their opinion is worth far more than mine or Tiny Chancer's.

I know eight people waiting on testing Munster area since Sunday and still haven't been tested. One of them is doing particularly badly, works in a school and several of her colleagues are now showing symptoms. The ease of testing in Dublin up to this week is reflected in the figures.

It's interesting the over 50% of all ventilators used worldwide are made in Ireland. So if everything was locked down, we would have a series stockpile to use as needed (I know that's not how business works, but interesting to see that we can feed ourselves and ventilate ourselves as needed)

As soon as treatments are confirmed this will all came down.

IMO if you test positive they will post you out something like chloroquine and Kaletra to take at home.

This is just a guess based on what I’m reading as treatments

Havent a clue who the guy is but facemasks blowing around the street doesn't look good. I dont know if its people coming out with the masks after testing and then f*cking them on the ground or are they from bags
