That's from a chinese blogger who went to south pacific and ate a local delicacy.

Don't let that get in the way of some slant eyed racism.

Or a joke I doubt very much this thing came from a bat.

China are the only county who seem to have the brains and the will to do what is needed to kick this into touch.

Heard from a mate that the gardai have leased over 250 vehicles at a cost of €900,000 per month, including 50 ice cream vans and several of those long pink hummer limos you see for hens.

These jokes were in the last thread around 700 pages ago.

    Thread moves fast!

Ireland is a great country to live in.

Don't listen to the doom and gloom merchants who used to tell us everyday it's a 3rd world kip and the government are the worst in the world.

The “3rd world conditions” jibe is a particular favorite of the PBP/SF/everything for nothing mob and is particularly insulting and untrue.
Bird Smith was looking for a match/rally to protest the efforts of FF/G to form a government only a few days ago even while the government were advising no large gatherings but you’ll hear nothing from her or any of them now because they have jacks**t to contribute to any real crisis like this.
At home, collecting their big TD salaries hiding and looking after themselves while the s**t hits the fan.

I don't get how British people can be so stupid and how completely thick individuals can rise to highly respected ranks within their society? You never see French, German, Dutch etc people saying nonsense like this.

Best way to let poor people / old people exterminate themselves is to keep pubs open and let them think there is a conspiracy to keep them at home.

Nah, they were all in the pub at the time when this information was passed onto them, so they forgot about it.

You said millions could have it in italy because there is not enough testing, now imagine if this is true. Do you think the death rate is really low compared to the amount that could have it.

They didn't all get infected on the same day.

The deaths we're seeing now relate to people who were infected some time ago. It's going to keep increasing for some time. Hopefully we'll see their lockdown kick in at some point, but for a while at least those numbers are going to get worse and worse.

We're also not seeing the overall death rate figures. And that's where the really bad news is hidden.

Anyone know whether the travel ban will include Ireland to the UK?

My partner was due to fly over for Easter to visit family and they’re getting quite upset now, not knowing when they’ll next be home. Hasn’t seen them since Christmas/New Years.

She can certainly go to see her family if she’s terribly upset but it will depend on wether the UK is accepting any visitors from abroad at that stage and even if they are id certainly hope that at that stage we won’t accept her return.
Sometimes all your wants can’t be met.

Kicked it into touch? Only after they had spent weeks ****ing it up and denying its existence. They only ramped up the efforts when the whole world was pointing the finger at their incompetence.

We should defend our way of life to an extent that any attempt on it is crushed, so that any adversary will never make such an attempt in the future.

Question. Is it wise to wear latex gloves while shopping in a supermarket? Everything I touch, I buy..

Many of us will end up with OCD.

It has been theorised by lots of posters that the really bad dose doing the rounds in December and early January might have been the virus.

I haven't seen proof that it was or that it wasn't. That dose was rampant and seemed to be plenty worse than a cold for most. There was a thread on here and all about it.

Maybe the high pneumonia death rates for at risk groups were only noticed when it hit a very dense population like China. China having been through SARS paid attention and discovered it was a new coronavirus.

You'll remember the hospitals here were overrun and many restrictions in place for what was reported as a particularly bad flu season.

I know a few people myself who were hospitalised but recovered eventually.

It would be good news really if it was because it would mean loads of us already had it, but probably wishful thinking.

Best thing that could happen is that this virus mutates to a milder version.

That dose was probably influenza. lots of swab results confirmed same for people who had them. While coronavirus seems more deadly than influenza, the majoirty who get coronavirus have symptoms much milder than influenza

Some politicians choose a lock-down, but others advocate for shielding the most vulnerable population.
Some scientists say that people will build immunity, but others disagree and fear a relapse is very much possible.
Some employers say it's the flu so just get on with it, others decide to encourage smart working as a temporary solution.
Some citizens are against stockpiling while others bought the entire stock of toilet rolls.

The point is, everybody is divided, from nations to scientists to the regular citizen...this is because we are in uncharted waters. Nothing of this magnitude ever hit the modern world, and this is certainly comparable to Chernobyl, not in terms of the incident itself, but rather in the decision making and thinking on your feet that is required from those in charge...or are they?

I heard so much about CoVid-19 for the last 3 months from all sources whether it's the government, media, social media, WHO, hell even the barman was talking about, and yet I am not sure who to trust or rather who is right and who is wrong. There are a lot of assumptions, comparisons, probabilities and whatnot that it's all hard to digest.

    Stay safe all!!
