Pushed to 9pm? This can't be a good sign surely

Its because Holohan just finished the sub committee briefing few mins ago.

Holohan needs to get from one press conference to the other presumably.

France going into lockdown now. Only a matter of when for us to follow soon.

Can you not ask your mate for an exact date and time?

29th March is date that is quoted for things closed till. I think that date will get pushed back for some weeks after that.

We are currently 22nd in the world per capita with 34.4 infected per million.

Clashing with French and American announcements so pushed back I'd imagine.

Yes with no salary increase, no recognition.

Based on me taking up a 'leadership' role at a time of crisis, why not discuss it with me first. My thing is they don't seem to want to recognise it.

I think you're between a rock and a hard place. If you refuse to help, this would look very bad for your prospects at that company. If you do accept the responsibility, they may not reward you for it, but you will gain valuable experience and you might find a better job off the back of it.

Well the CMO is only just out of 1 press conference. Think he needs a bit more time to talk to his people before another press conference

And to move between buildings. The most recent conf was not at the Dept of Health. The next one will be.

I think the schools will definitely stay closed until after Easter anyway.

There's no point in asking for a source. If someone doesn't post an actual link from a credible source, just assume they are talking out of their hoop.

No one knows, but why pull numbers out of his arse.

I wonder if maybe he's talking to medical experts?

Leo says no, they are going to hammer home social distancing. Suggested in the conference that quarantine doesn't work.

That's because they need people to get it, but slowly

RTE usually have it, but it's going to be an absolute miserly bit of TV. Watch the press conference instead, there's no place for Eastenders in anyone's life.

About 20 companies I had to deal with today.

All going for a Friday lockdown and shutting up shop.

How would foreign speeches come into the decision of a timing of a press conference here.

Holohan needs to get from one press conference to the other presumably.

Hopefully anyway, just presumed they would have had that already pre-planned when they made the timing.

Most likely explains why its later then 6pm today aswell.

Quick changing situation, lots of meetings today so compiling everything they got together. Leo said expect about 30% day on day increases. That suggests about 52 today.

I'd say it's pushed back as all relevant bodies relay the information for the day.

Talking like we're Italy 2.0, which is silly considering we have shut down pretty darn fast compared to them.

I suspect schools could be until September. It's to 29th March for everything so as to ease people in to the idea, establish routines etc

No one knows, but why pull numbers out of his arse.

WTF are you even talking about? Do you think he just made up the figure? Or perhaps someone modelled it and told him what the model said? You seem to know the deal anyway.

Even if it is like a placebo, it does help morale and mental health.
Kudos to all cashiers here in Ireland. Must be a nerve-wrecking job these days.
