The other route is if so many of us get infected it stops the transmission

And 5% of infected die. More if the system is overwhelmed.

Maybe better to try stop infection spread first.

If that doesn't work maybe we'll look at your suggestion again

Thats the more likely route as this two week semi quarantine while d1ckheads fly in and out to football matches and race meetings is only a temporary pause.

It's not a suggestion it's what could happen, if it can't be stopped

When the vaccine become available Trump will do a public - private partnership with McDonalds, KFC etc to dispense it.

Last I heard they were suspending them due to Covid 19. Isn't that nice of them.

The Dow Jones has risen by 7.9% since Trump started talking. At least he'll be happy.

I don't have words for this. Do Americans in the rust belt who voted for him really think he cares about them?

Came across this in relation to the outbreak in Berlin. Still not sure what benefit there is in providing a breakdown per borough/region. Surely people need to be vigilant no matter where they are based so can see why they've opted not to go for this approach here.

Summary of this press conference. Isn't trump great, lads.

Iv watched a few of Trumps press conference's last week or so. In general everyone around him looks uncomfortable. When he says something somewhat normal which is rare, theirs is usually a nod of surprise by those around him.

The posters in here seem far more sensible than the general population, so I'd imagine it will be less!

But in reality thats just buying time as when you lift the measures and they will have to lift the measures then the upward curve starts again. The big problem with this virus is it transmits even without symptoms where SARS only became transmittable after you had been sick for a couple of days. Therefore its hard to isolate cases and slow the rate of transmission. The only possible way is to force families to isolate in their homes for 3 weeks, letting those that have it see it through til the immune system overcomes it. With no supporting body left it cannot survive but thats next to impossible
In addition, highly transmittable in the pre-symptomatic stage, and tests not showing positive 10 days after onset, requiring a subsequent test 14 days after initial test.

Suggestions that it may remain transmittable after recover and possibility of reinfection are really too awful to dwell on, Boris may truly get his wish and be 'last man standing'.

Feeling quite worried about the situation in Ireland now. I'm not really seeing the community as a whole taking it as seriously as they should.

Plenty are and hopefully this will be enough to slow down the spread enough to flatten the curve and save lives

Unless we introduce martial law which I wouldn't want we have to accept some people won't play ball. Even more important that us that are aware work even harder to make up for the ones who won't.

Part VI was decent. Can see that they are finally starting to get places with the plot. I still find the protagonists a bit dense though (but I know people will say you need that in the disaster genre).

Is it just me or are the episodes getting shorter though?

A floating lab? Thought this was worth posting. Again the vexed twin questions of true mortality rates and how many infections there are is mentioned.
