Only 3 in intensive care. Means some people may be self-isolating at home.

The panic buying we witnessed today was a perfect illustration of mob idiocy in plain view. A mass gathering of panicked morons all milling together, completely oblivious to the fact that in their panic they have exposed themselves and others to whatever carriers of this virus are in the community. But they have their bog roll and that's fine. The fear of missing out and the herd mentality.

Well I think most of them probably made the rationale choice that it was better to do it today, than tomorrow, or the day after? Every day brings more cases, and a greater likelihood of risk. I wouldn’t do it, but can’t blame them for getting prepared now as they hadn’t already and leaving it any later doesn’t make sense.

So nearly 100 on the island now. Maybe Ireland wont escape what happened in the rest of Europe

    What the actual ****!

    27 cases!

Is that the largest per capita jump of any european country?

Yep, I believe this is only starting as contact and holiday testing has only been going on.

1, popular and well liked in real life.
2, People need to take take the blinkers off, you and others like you still in denial and are in for a world of hurt.
Now if you are you ilk where not so pig headed and stubborn, you would swallow your pride and get ready for the SHTF event that will crash into Ireland in the coming days/weeks.
Feeling belligerency toward those of us smart enough to see what was coming and took the time to warn you, does that demeanor curry favour with people in the real world?

Smart is not a word I'd used to describe someone who posted that

No, Denmark is same size and has had about 450 cases in the last 48 hours. Ireland has been growing the most slowly out of all west european countries

Only? That's over 10% ! That's an immense number when we start getting big case numbers. We only have 265 ICU beds in the country. We're on the same curve as the rest of Europe.

Denmark went from 90 to 264 in 24 hrs earlier in the week.

27 new cases is a massive systems failure.

Its clear that contact tracing has failed.

There’s over a 100 people in the staff canteen in work are we not at risk?

Doesn't apply to workplaces, however some companies are shutting down their canteens

So the Uk basically contradicted what we did today re closing schools saying it’s too soon and that people will be fatigued by the time it’s really necessary

Only 3 in intensive care. Means some people may be self-isolating at home.

Everyone who gets it now and is not in a high risk group will be self-isolating at home.

We reacted far too late with any real measures such as we saw today, we let Italian flights come in unimpeded and god knows how many idiots are returning from cheltenham everyday this week

On a per capita basis we are growing a lot faster than the UK and had more cases before these 27.

    Dr. Tony must be chuffed.

He got the spread he wanted.

Wonder if he still wants it in nursing homes?

And wait till those Cheltenham inbreds are imported back.

Thats not necessarily true. Sweden has had nearly 500 cases very recently and claims at least to have no ongoing significant community spread
