The people who are criticizing others for "panicking" are idiots imo.

Nobody is panicking like the keyboard warriors in here let on, nobody is off having a full of riot. It's not exclusive to this country either.

And people who simply have the sense to know that a global pandemic being announced with essentially half the country shut down for the first time in decades will require some extra essentials are doing the right thing.

WTF is all the panic shopping about ??? Retail Ireland have said that there is no problem with the supply chain and the have contingecy plans in place to ensure supermarkets remain stocked...

Not literally though. I doubt any environment they'd be in would be as big a risk for virus transmission as the classroom. Plus you'd hope most parents would be responsible and keep them at home most of the time...

Slight problem in that those who stockpile on essentials/soaps/hand sanitizers are forgetting that other people require them to get through this.

Why did I not post anything about it because I signed a confidentiality contract in my job.
I don't think people realise you can not shut places like this without planning

Depends how many live in your house. 4 in our house - 2 adults 2 kids. Go though at least one a day. Say 8 week. If someone if trying to stock up for say 2 weeks, that's 16 toilet rolls. And many want to stock up for longer. It's just simple maths.

The wan on newstalk is giving some good advice, however her suggestion that this is only for a week or two is somewhat misleading, and dangerous.
It's not a few weeks, but months.

One very, very good item of advice was for any 'smokers over 60', to seriously consider to *cease with immediate effect*.
A Pharmasist can supply nico pathes, hypno-MP3s are also avalable to download.

And one of our kids is still in nappies, so doesn't use toilet roll. I can only imagine how much bog roll a house with 3 teenage sons would use in a week!

From current reality: shops are replenished daily in Italy and have been so in Wuhan during the outbreak
Panic is a natural reaction, no judgement here. But it's not justified
