I don’t care where they copy ideas from as long as they’re good ideas that support slowing the spread of the virus. At least they are beginning to do things. More positive steps like this and any panic will begin to subside.

GPs can issue certs electronically now, not sure they are all set up to do it though
yep, but from what I see you get paid whatever the employer decides they want to pay or nothing at all, meaning that if youre stuck for cash theres still an incentive to just work through the (potential) virus

in Germany when you are sick you get full pay, hassle free from your employer, so there there's no financial incentive to work when you arent feeling well.

goodluck with my gp doing that
sure i can't get an appointment for next week never mind doing electronical certs.

I was disappointed that my doctor couldn't send me my cert electronically. I asked if they could email first and they said they were very busy, which I understand, then I asked if they could WhatsApp and they also refused... That takes about two seconds in fairness!

So I wasn't able to see the doctor because the issue was respiratory but I was allowed to go in, touch all the doorhandles, stand there for a good five minutes and collect the cert. Before taking it into the house, I disinfected the cert, photographed it, sent and electronic copy to my boss and binned it.

    That's why it's called average

    I know Mic.

It's just that the way you worded it could cause undue concern to someone who tests positive:

A good idea is a good idea. Don't care if they copied the Martians with it.

Friend on flight from Milan to Stansted reckoned there were about 25 people on the flight.

The UK seem to have it very well managed only 2 dead so far.

I'd love to know where they're getting these 50%-60% numbers from. Bologna is not even remotely anywhere near those numbers. It seems to be based on the virus rapidly growing for months on end without any slow up.

Legally tho, while the cert can be issued electronically.
    An examination is still required.

Now we all know it's usually a nod and a wink and pick it up from reception after a phonecall but still the rules are rules.

    It depends on multiple factors.

you are counting unresolved cases in your stat, that figure inst indication of anything
Korea only has 166 resolved, the vast majority of cases are still open to an outcome
my "scarimonger: figures are the offical stats, sorry if they scare you off

Your stat is based on closed cases that are known about. Its more than likely that there many unknown cases too. The scale of the testing in South Korea helps in this regard.

I'm guessing our numbers will go up from 21 cases to about 28 or 29 cases?

    We'll find out @6pm.

No it absolutely does not. You continue to assume every infected person in the world has been tested and found. There are likely many many people with mild symptoms who recover without ever being tested.

I'm anticipating we are going to hit the 40 mark total cases today. :(
no logic just my gut telling me (mainly due to a lag in results more than anything)

On the 20th February Italy had 4 confirmed cases. 2 and a half weeks later and it's nearly 10,000.

It's rapidly growing in a scenario where 120k people have the virus.

It's a massive leap to extrapolate that growth to 1.2m people having the virus, or 12m, or 120m or 1.2bn.
