There is 3 cases in Drogheda which still have not been released[/QUOTE)

The release is only once per day. If they are confirmed I expect we will hear this evening.

They got their positive results back on friday evening

People under 50 who may personally be relatively unaffected by the virus should note that if infected they will on average pass the virus on to approximately two people, who will each proceed to pass it on to approximately two more people and so on...

If you caught the virus this week you could easily start a chain of 500+ infections in people who otherwise would not have got the virus. This could theoretically occur within a 8-9 week period.

After that pick your percentage for critical patients and deaths and apply.

This is why it is so important for this constituency of which I am a part to behave responsibly and exercise good hygiene.

Not a big ask when you consider the stakes noted above.

He has removed his account since tweeting it. Does this action build confidence or raise anxiety?
He tweeted it after a couple of credible posters here have said there's a load of new cases in his hospital. That raises anxiety.

I reckon it's starting to snowball here.

calls to public health finally picked up. She then told me since I didn't know the name of the colleague who had been in contact with a confirmed case they couldn't establish a link so I don't meet the criteria to be tested. HR can't release details due to GDPR.
We did too - helpline closed-eventually got the on call GP no advice from HSE to close but clearly it would be wise with confirmed cases in village. We are closed for 2 weeks from today.

This makes it more likely to be a WhatsApp rumour. What benefit would it be for the HSE to hide this result apart from undermining confidence in the HSE?

What I imagine has happened is one eager beaver heard three people were isolated whilst waiting for test results to come back but ended up been negative.

Arnie loves to workout on dirty gym gear/ weights at Public Golds Gym. He then does to have Breakfast Lunch and Dinner without washing his hands. Says it builds up his immune system.

Can you argue with the results?

Come on, are you seriously expecting that there will be zero cases with the next announcement of cases.

The person was accusing them of not saying the full amount of cases as there was 3 they knew of. I am in no way suggesting there will be no new cases today in there press relief would love it but that be moronic, Also just asked for a source to the 3 cases they somehow know about. So maybe reread what I was replying to and its context

What about a diluted dettol solution, in a small spray bottle? Wouldn’t smell great either mind, but could work?

As a hand gel substitute - I think that'd savage your hands.

But if the concern is not being able to wash hands while on the move \ shops etc then a spray bottle of soap and water and hand towels could work... refill after each trip.

And someone only yesterday tried to argue that unions in the HSE aren't an issue when it comes to changes.

I am sick of hearing about Paddy's Day. There will be life and a virus after Paddy's Day.
The Irish always get caught up on the stupid small stuff.

Good post here which shows why there is the show must go on type mentality. I think many of us just see the lunacy of not cancelling a parade but that post shows the vested interests in the day and why the decision is being kicked down the road. Probably the worst time to have political disarray that gives rise to a soft goverment when we need them to make the hard decisions despite the vested interests and economic costs.

    Where are you getting this?

I don’t really see what the HSE have to gain by holding back numbers for days versus the issues it would cause if this got out. I’d put down most issues early doors down to simple mistakes as opposed to some sort of coverup. They are going to need the trust of the people as things get bad.

It is thought at this stage the virus is beyond containment. In Dublin alone, it is widely speculated that the number could be as big as 500 right now and with many multitudes of people interacting so frequently, be it in pubs, restaurants, work, this number will indeed grow at a rate approaching the true growth exponent.

    Source please

And according to this, they do daily bloods if delivered there by 10am. I thought my hospital was doing the testing as we had a negative result in under 7 hours.
    https://nvrl.ucd.ie/node/209

martina1991 seems to know her stuff regarding biochem labs so I'll refrain from commenting on them as I don't know their full workings. All I can say is that they are a vital aspect of a hospital and the place would fall apart at the e weekend if their (underappreciated) work was not done.

    You rang? :pac:

Currently only the NVRL are carrying out the tests. I read that bit today in the Irish times it is expected that staff at some Irish hospitals will be be trained to provide testing facilities regionally, but I haven't heard anything of the sort yet. Miike mentioned it yesterday too but he had no further info.

There is a Molecular Genetics lab in Crumlin hospital. That may likely be the first hospital to take it on. I would imagine the workload will decide how many further labs are required to offer the service for testing. There's no point buying expensive equipment and reagents for hospitals around the country if there won't be a huge use for them.

Which might explain the higher CFR if I remember correctly? In short that’s the worse strain?

But but but...didnt someone on here earlier say they are great over there. Cobra meetings, Boris, NHS open the weekend etc etc. All so much better than here.
I know I read it here so it must be true.

Only the Irish government and the HSE are doing things wrong. Please stick to the script on here.

They actually said that Boris's government must be doing something right to keep the numbers low, unlike the HSE here who are lying about our current low numbers.

That lab is way overworked as it is :(. Waiting list is 18 months to 2 years long.
