I said in Thread 3 that history will show that China handled the outbreak well and I was attacked. The local Wuhan government struggled and were slow but the Central government were superb in their reaction.

Not one person I've handed over money to in various different shops in the last few days has been wearing gloves.

I was served by guy wearing some yesterday, none of his colleagues were wearing any. He handled my goods so when I got home I infected my fridge and anyone who now takes anything from it.

According to HSE at ~5.45pm yesterday, there were 19 confirmed cases as at ~2pm yesterday. There will be an update again this evening.

I presume yesterdays update probably doesnt really include any new cases from Saturday (note 1 new case) - as the results probably werent back?

They sacrificed the housing market in Dublin for generations for the sake of the Hotel industry.

Why are we shocked FG are OK with giving the tourist industry 1 good week over the health of the public?

At this stage this new government can't be formed quick enough so the ****ing record can be changed. Changed for the B side of the same one because **** all is going to change.

Germany has joined the calling off of public events of over 1,000 people.

Indoors I assume? It was quite wrongly reported this week that France had banned outdoor events (they haven't).

Declare Summer early and pray for sunny weather now!

It's far too early to tell if the spread of the new coronavirus that causes COVID-19 will be dampened by warm weather.

It has only been known to science since the beginning of January, so experts aren’t sure quite how it will behave.

There are cases in Australia, Singapore and in the Persian Gulf so I would not hold my breath about the truth of Trump's prediction that hot weather will get rid of it.

He is not known for truth telling at the best of times.

If missed the opportunity back in December, Vodka may do.

Also cheap aftershaves will do, just watch out for unexpected romances as some people like smell of 'hia karate' and 'dude musk for man'.
Might be a bonus for the re-population project next year.

And yet we've had only 1 case in the last 36 hours according to the HSE. Does anyone actually believe that!?

Anybody who believes that is an absolute total fooking moron.

Dr Gerry Burke, head of UHL, tweeted earlier today that we are a few weeks behind Italy, and implied that the St Patrick's Day parade needs to be cancelled.

He has removed his account since tweeting it, which is apparently something he does now and then.

There's bound to be timing issues alright but all they can do is confirm what they have on hand at some particular time.

on average 125 people die from Smoking related disease EVERY WEEK!

Ok thread number 5 and I’m going to say it again. It’s the strain this puts on the hospitals that means you cannot get help for any illness or accident. Wtf that had to do with how many smokers die is irrelevant cause they don’t cause the hospitals to be under more pressure than ever.

Hopefully we can get some dry weather soon so farmers can sow crops, so we can feed ourselves at least.

I said something similar but predict that to take focus off how horrible they handled this the priority will be to focus on blaming China for everything. We all write our own versions of history

People can touch their face upto x20 per hour, you get the virus ON your hands, if removing gloves when returning from somewhere, that factor elimated.

Ideally one would remember not to touch their face with some big yellow gloves on.

I wonder who are Iceland comparing themselves to?
Nobody, because they have unprecedented levels of testing per capita, are paying people to quarantine and have made it illegal to break quarantine. They are holding daily conferences where they disclose any and all new information and facts.

Anybody who believes that is an absolute total fooking moron.

They would be indeed. Because even the HSE (or the National Public Health Emergency Team) didn't say that.

Not having a go here because I can understand why people mightn't bother trying to differentiate the different quangos, it's not the HSE that release the figures. It's the National Public Health Emergency Team.

No but you can get FROM your hands.

People put their hands in the mouth nose on their face all day long. Anything you can do to reduce the chance of the virus being on your hands is a bonus.

I am sick of hearing about Paddy's Day. There will be life and a virus after Paddy's Day.
The Irish always get caught up on the stupid small stuff.
