The messaging today shows clearly the government moving to prepare the population mentally for the outbreak to go big.

Alls well here though. No reason whatsoever it’ll have a major impact in Ireland. >Whistles

Anytime I see a HSE or anyone speak all I can think of is that Lesley Nelson Naked gun house on flames "Nothing to see here" gif.

I'm on my Green Tea Extract,

''It has been shown that green tea extract exert potent antiviral effects against a variety of human infecting viruses including influenza type viruses''

Can't hurt to be taking them daily.

Are you getting that info from the bbc?

It’s all over the UK media, government figures commenting in unison all of a sudden that it’s gonna be big. Eg from the guardian today:

Boris Johnson accepted that a large-scale outbreak was now “very likely”, while Scotland’s first minister, Nicola Sturgeon, said that up to four out of five Scots could become infected.

This Claire Byrne episode seems like it will be comprehensive guide to self isolation. Possibly worth a watch for all. Starting now on RTE1.

Yeah, saw that, found it funny when they guy conducting the mock test said that the swab needed to go up into the nose 2 or 3 inches, and that there might be a bit of blood...

I'd say he'd catch a bit of brain matter shoving it up that far.

I think the actions from todays COBRA meeting are being released tomorrow. Perhaps there is a lot going on now behind the scenes

It's proven to fight viruses, get some !

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,842 ✭✭✭✭thebaz

Thebaz, that isn’t how viruses work unfortunately. There’s no building up of immunity because they mutate so easily.

oh well, should have studied medicine , my philosophy on drinking tap water is the belief that it gives me added immunity - know some people that wouldn't touch it - but I do worry that we could be breeding huge numbers of OCD cases - with compulsive over hand washing.

    So let’s get this straight:

School has a confirmed case. He was in class all week.

HSE sends everyone home and recommends isolation.

HSE then brings all the parents together in one room for a big meeting.

    ???

The doc said we've only one case of someone who caught it abroad - no need to worry, it hasn't been spread to anyone else
