In just over a week S Korea has had just shy of 4200 new cases - while still having a relatively low death rate nearly all of these cases are still in the early stages. Could be some bad times ahead for them in the next couple of weeks

I read most of them were spread by a death cult.

It's so depressing that so many people are still playing this down and believe it's just like a normal flu, these same ***** will be the ones who will arrogantly refuse to isolate themselves and report having symptoms and spread it faster. Thick as ****.

There seriously should be an emergency announcement made advising all citizens and people currently in the country about how necessary it is that they comply with the advice of the WHO to isolate yourself if you've symptoms and arrange to be tested. We simply cannot possibly cope with a huge increase in numbers of people requiring hospital treatment for this

No, they're not, because out of the two sides which do you think would contribute more towards reducing the speed of it spreading? Yes, people going completely bat**** with factually incorrect information is frustrating but it's imperative at this stage that people take the advised steps seriously to play their role in preventing the spreading of it to the weak people amongst us as much as possible. We cannot entirely prevent it from spreading, at this stage it cannot be contained, but we can slow down the speed at which it spreads so that the health service has less of a load of people to deal with all at once so the numbers requiring treatment can hopefully be spread out over the coming months

The HSE also need to stop this absolute bull**** of trying to conceal the effected areas, we need up to date information for tracking so people can realise when to be most alert and conscious about where they're going and minimising contact with others. We have NO face masks available whatsoever to help people carrying the virus reduce their spreading

People are losing the run of themselves on this thread.

Can always rely on CA for a bit of hysteria.

People talking like the apocalypse is imminent. Loads of speculation and speculation on speculation.

The only fact that is certain is that there's one confirmed case.

They declare a state of emergency to apply for funding. Common practise

Got this from the Coronavirus thread in We Are the Music Makers Forum.

" america is ****ed. a bunch of workers showed up to move around quarantined people and none of them had training or protective gear and weren't told about what they needed to do.

also, the tests the CDC sent out to all 50 states were flawed and they were told not to use them.

but mike pence is probably praying so it'll all be fine. " :pac::D:D:D

Just think of what a scary country the U.S is to live in. You have to pay thousands to cover the costs of being quannentined, something that you have no say in.

Do you though? Even when it's at a military base?

My sister nursed a SARS patient in the US who sadly passed away in 2004. She said that the hospital gave staff a basic surgical mask a boiler suit and some gaffer tape to use when dealing with the patient. It took a lot of arguing by nursing staff to get improved safety equipment from the hospital to protect them from contracting the patient's condition. Cost was cited as the reason for the initial flimsy work wear roll out.

Our government isn't prepared for this virus, how is the public ready for this? Saw a sign on a chemist's window 'out of face masks' last week and this was before the first case in Northern Ireland.

The whole containment phase is a sham. I know a lad who flew back from Asia last week. Went through three airports, not a mention of where he was or even checking a temperature. There are people with symptoms knowingly boarding planes just so they get home and screw everyone else on board. They're like giant incubators for a virus like this.

Then we have fancy schools who won't even cancel skiing trips to Italy lest they ruffle some feathers in South Dublin. Containment my arse.

From an E.U. perspective, perhaps it's Greece where the greatest resources need to be directed.

Significant numbers of unknown health quantities heading the E.U's way.....and by extension our way also.

Aside from the Immigration issue, there is now the possible Pandemic also to deal with.

This is not going to be an easy fix. :(

Yea I heard people on Australian radio saying it's no different to a common cold and this reaction is like the y2k bug.

Anyway first human to Human transmission in Australia announced. https://news.google.com/articles/CBMijwFodHRwczovL3d3dy45bmV3cy5jb20uYXUvbmF0aW9uYWwvY29yb25hdmlydXMtdXBkYXRlLWZpcnN0LWh1bWFuLXRvLWh1bWFuLXRyYW5zbWlzc2lvbi1pbi1hdXN0cmFsaWEtc3lkbmV5L2M2MTgxMzRmLTE2NmEtNDJhOS1hNGI1LTA2Njg1NTQ2NTBiMNIBRWh0dHBzOi8vYW1wLjluZXdzLmNvbS5hdS9hcnRpY2xlL2M2MTgxMzRmLTE2NmEtNDJhOS1hNGI1LTA2Njg1NTQ2NTBiMA?hl=en-AU&gl=AU&ceid=AU:en

Well that would be fine only 2% death rate is insanely high given the 100s of 1000s that could get this if not managed properly. A common cold isn’t that big a deal and can freely spread around the country without causing too disruption.

But if 2% of people who got a cold died you can be sure all reactions would be the same.

The people on the radio who thought that are morons and dangerous. Wait until the lynchings begin after this. Already warning signs, Ukraine, Iran burning the health center, fights in Australia over hand sanitizer etc
