This is what the NHS says if you're been to one of the affected areas in northern Italy:
    For 14 days you should:
    1. stay at home
    2. not go to work, school or public areas
    3. not use public transport or taxis
    4. ask friends, family members or delivery services to carry out errands for you
    5. try to avoid visitors to your home - it’s OK for friends, family or delivery drivers to drop off food

Oh right, that's the NHS then. The HSE don't seem to have issued any such advice.....they merely say anyone who suspects they might have contracted the virus should immediately self isolate.

Heard speculation from a person usually in the know that the death rate in China is in excess of half a million.

Hardly, If that were the case, it would be an absolute catastrophe.

About yourself? A parent? A grandparent?
Yes, would be very concerned about anyone elderly within the family coming in contact with this,

I hate when people claim a media blackout. It's the epitome of "oh yeah that's why there are no reports in any news outlets but its 1000% true despite any evidence"; ie its nonsense.

Any claim of media blackouts in Ireland (unless its Garda/crime related) = 100% BS.

Chatter is used to gather information during peacetime as well as war time and is usually a pretty accurate reflection of events. I’m not talking about hashtags here.
