Juventus v Inter Milan re scheduled for May 13th now.

    That could be HUGE!

Or a dead rubber which will mean nothing. Juve will be delighted with this decision anyway as they aren't in form now.
I wonder how will UEFA handle the Lyon game, you can't postpone it until May anyway.

2-0 Lazio and it's only 21 mins into the match

    Strange Immobile hasn't scored yet.

Atalanta at it again. 7 goals. A 7-2 away win v Lecce.

Only the 104 goals scored (for and against) in their 25 league games so far.

    Interesting development:

The new Serie A fixture list for this weekend is likely to have six postponed games, with Sampdoria-Verona on Saturday and the others including Juventus-Inter on Sunday, all behind closed doors, due to the Coronavirus outbreak.
After the number of cases spiked to over 3,000 in Italy today, including 107 deaths, the Government announced it was closing all schools and universities to March 15.
That could be extended, as the advice from the scientific commission was to shut all large public gatherings for 30 days rather than 15.
This also covers sporting events, but rather than simply carry on with the current fixture list, it is almost certain now that the Serie A calendar will be shuffled along by a week.
That means the six postponed Week 26 games will be played on March 7 and 8 instead of the Week 27 matches.
This is the preliminary fixture list that has been drawn up and reported, which could be confirmed within hours.
    Serie A Week 26
    Saturday March 7
    Sampdoria-Verona (19.45 GMT)
    Sunday March 8
    Milan-Genoa (11.30 GMT)
    Parma-SPAL (14.00 GMT)
    Sassuolo-Brescia (14.00 GMT)
    Udinese-Fiorentina (17.00 GMT)
    Juventus-Inter (19.45 GMT)

    Looks like no games today

@FabrizioRomano Serie A: Parma and Spal were going to play right now (h12.30). The Minister of Sport has asked the Italian Federation to stop Serie A with IMMEDIATE effect because of the Coronavirus emergency. Players are back in the dressing rooms and waiting. #SerieA #Covid19

Euro's will have to cancelled this year.

Serie A along with other leagues will need more time to finish the league.

It's a joke at this point how disorganised they are, the players were in the tunnel when they were told to wait and still no concrete decision. They should have made a concrete decision two weeks and been done with it, either play the games behind closed doors or cancel the rest of the season now because there will be no time to play the games.

If Serie A games are cancelled what happens to European games? Do the Italian teams have to forfeit their games or is it possible they can play them outside Italy?

Latest is that it is going ahead at 13.45 (12.45 our time). They’re all over the place on this over there.

Did a load of fans show up outside the Tardini?

Yeah that's official now, they shouldn't be able to delay the start of a game because some politician decides by himself that he wants to stop it, he clearly didn't have the power to stop the games so why even delay it?

They originally said that they didn't want to play Juve v Inter without spectators because it would portray a bad image of the league for people to see an empty stadium on TV but the way they have handled everything since has been so much worse.

Teams for Juve vs Inter (live on Premier Sports, 7:45pm):
Juventus XI: Szczesny; Cuadrado, De Ligt, Bonucci, Sandro; Ramsey, Betancur, Matuidi; Costa, Higuain, Ronaldo.

Inter Milan XI: Handanovic; Skriniar, de Vrij, Bastoni; Candreva, Vecino, Brozovic, Barella, Young; Lukaku, Martinez.

Glad to see Ramsey starting. Also nice to see see Handanovic back. Conte keeping faith with Bastoni.

Weird situation with this being a massive game in the title race but played in an empty stadium. Arguably it's a must-win game for Inter and if they lose they're probably out of the title race. Have a feeling it will be a draw but hard one to call.

I seen 20 minutes of Parma vs SPAL this morning & playing behind closed doors is so strange to watch. Maybe if I understood Italian better I could understand the shouts occurring. The game is lacking but I think Juve know that Inter are the ones who need to push for a win so aren't exerting themselves too much.

Both teams have had their moments, and each keeper made good saves when called upon, but it's a strange experience with the lack of atmosphere.

Ramsey makes it 1-0 from close range. Big goal in the title race.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,611 ✭✭✭✭ERG89

    That's that then.

That was a lovely goal from Dybala. Going to be tough for Inter to get back into this now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,415 ✭✭✭✭Father Hernandez

    Dybala is some talent.

    Dybala with a great goal.

One of those that makes manager look great for getting him on or just bad for not starting him.

Already De Sciglio has been Inter's best player in the second half.

All over. Big win for Juve. Looks like it's up to Lazio to deny them another title.

Don't think Inter can have any complaints. Juve pressed the ball better and passed it better. Pity Ronaldo couldn't get the goal near the end. He came so close.

All league games suspended until at least April 3rd.

I assume the game that's on at the minute is a postponed game from the weekend or something ?

    I adore watching Atlanta

    What an unreal attacking team

Rugani has the coronavirus. Hope he gets well soon.

    Inter have suspended training:

Wonder what this means for Serie A? Maybe put it on ice for a month and hope the picture is better down the road? Extraordinary times.

All sporting events in Italy had already been suspended until April 3 anyway so this won't change anything in that regard, I doubt they'll start playing again that soon either so I would expect the season to be over or they might use play-offs to decide the order of top and bottom 4. To be honest I think all Italian clubs would be as well off to enact isolation procedures as a precaution, they won't be playing any games for the next few weeks anyway so they have nothing to lose by doing it really.

In addition to four at Sampdoria,, there are six covid players at Fioentina and one for Torino. I don't believe they can think of starting. I ask, if isolation in lockdown, how did six of one club become positive after two months?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55,834 ✭✭✭✭Headshot

It's madness they are even considering restarting.

I can understand Germany restarting even though i' m personally against it but Italy on the other hand one of the worse countries for Covid 19 and they are still feeling the pain there.

We all want football to return but I value life more

I seems of the six at Fiorentina only three are players. But too much in any scenario.
