What kind of testing would you propose?

My colleague returned from a ski trip in Northern Italy about 2 wks ago. She was mentioning this morn how they had to travel through the worst hit town on way to their hotel. She reckons the quarantine thing is a load of hysteria though. Does our employer not have an obligation to make her stay home? Is the 14 days or so, since she came back, enough time to rule out infection?

Tbh I reckon she's alright (14 days is generally the max, but it can go up to 27)but none of us are doctors here or employment lawyers.

I'm not telling you where I live. It's every man for himself at this stage.
    TELL ME where you live.

Months I've been waiting for the second season of Altered Carbon on Netflix and it came online tonight.
And I can't watch it trying to keep up with this thread, which so far ...... is more entertaining than the first episode of season 2.

You'd assume a lot of passenger who were on flights from Italy on the day are now contacting the HSE themselves to be tested.

The won't qualify for testing unless they have symptoms.

He got it in Italy or on the plane back, theres probably a thousand or so who have just come back from the exact same area on flights since the weekend so tell me again why testing at the airport isnt sensible?

How people are still sticking their heads in the sand about this is beyond me.

Is it illegal to spread the virus intentionally? Obviously someone wouldn't admit to it but can you get in trouble if you are found to be travelling around while infected

Israel say they have a vaccine and are right now testing it on poultry.

They say it will be ready in three months to test on humans.

I know of a family whose child has just returned from a ski trip in northern Italy. The child is now in self isolation at home. The father has also been instructed by his company to work from home for 2 weeks. The mother a nurse, well guess where she is? At work in the hospital. Go figure

As instructed by employer that is, not her choice

Arseholes wont self isolate themsevles, I can assure you there's Irish people on their way to Northern Italy as we speak

Fact check: "There are no flight restrictions between Ireland and Italy at present." (https://www.dfa.ie/travel/travel-advice/a-z-list-of-countries/italy/)

And you can't cancel and claim travel insurance until that changes...

Isn't the human testing phase much longer though?

Not much of a weapon though is it. Very low fatality rate. There are already far superior biological weapons out there that are tried and tested.

I remember a man in the UK was jailed for deliberately spreading HIV this is nowhere near as deadly but there seems to be some laws that would cover that.

Well she may be clocking up a lot of overtime the next few months so she may as well get used to being in there.

You could be forcibly quantined in many jurisdictions if you are infected.
So I wouldn't try that in China...

Israel say they have a vaccine and are right now testing it on poultry.

They say it will be ready in three months to test on humans.

And it will take another 12 months after that to get it approved, that’s if it works.
