People in this thread are very ignorant of the fact that even if they get it and have mild like flu symptoms they can pass it on to others and elderly people who it is very serious for. I wonder would they be so blase if their parents or grandparents got it?

It's a very very serious virus that could have massive social and economic impact not to mention kill many people here.

No idea why they don't care

They don’t care because the have Investments is my guess, and they think their collective denial and trolling of considered and informative discussions about this (now global) situation will somehow prop up the markets and they can go on telling their buddies in the gym how their portfolio is performing so well that they will be able to retire in a few years.

Important for people to realise these reports are coming in as they happen - it's not "for the day"...

Is there anything to be said for another hard border? Just temporary, like

While most in this thread are not worrying and probably rightfully so. As mentioned it’s not a problem getting it for most people but passing it on to those who would be less able to fight it is the problem, my child for example has a very poor immune system even a small cold can develop into serious infection that would end up as a hospital stay. He has heart issues and has various surgeries down through the years. So for him catching this would be deadly serious.

So what are the panic recommendations?
    Drink lots of water .....

    Don't let your mouth dry.

    Wash your hands regularly.

Also check your respiratory health each morning. Can you hold a deep breath?

People are going to hospital too late.

    Stop trolling, nobody is panicking

So you think it makes no sense to take reasonable precautions?

Washing hands is the main one really, buy hand sanitizer with alcohol in it and carry it around with you!

Would you worry if you were in china? Its going to spread exactly like that here now?
