Spain confirms 2 new coronavirus cases in Madrid; preliminary information indicates both cases don't have travel history.
Similar info given for the case in Seville: The patient hadn't been travelling. It has been here for a few weeks now if that's the case.

I live in Cordoba, about 150km east of Seville, and its on the main train route between Madrid, Seville and Malaga. I'd be fairly certain that its already floating about in the air here, though I'm actually more relaxed now that it seems to be taking off in Spain. It seems to be being treated fairly well so far.

Letting this kind of thing go ahead might well look like insanity in a couple of months

Or else it will all be forgotten about and wel go about enjoying summer with the sun on our backs.
    Time will tell

All suggestions to alter various practices like this are practical and helpful. I’m on my own mini-mission (which got me into trouble on this thread :) ) to encourage use of card tapping where at all possible. I was saying to the ladies in the coffee shop that as they work front line it might be good to encourage a quick tap of the card in payment, especially where food is being handled too.

I'd be happy to tap, right after you persuade the AIB to drop all fees for card use.

Norway aren’t renowned for wild speculation, are they?

The Council/university of Hong Hong SheznHn Hospital released advice on how to go about making your face mask and eye protection. Whether its productive or no t at least its an option if its need. One comment suggested using dried wet wipes. As it is the same material of a surgical mask and. works well.

I wonder will the travel insurances pay out if holidays are cancelled in the summer?

They could be facing a hefty bill.

Wonder when will the WHO call this pandemic, a pandemic?

South Korea has confirmed its largest-yet daily increase in coronavirus cases, with 505 new infections on Thursday (1766 total).
Markets continue to slide $3TR lost this week, x4 main Euromarkets down again (for 5th day) 2.5% negative avg this morning.

    This is TheAA.

    https://www.theaa.ie/blog/aa-travel-insurance-coronavirus-faq/
If your flight isn’t cancelled, but the DFA has warned against travel to your destination, the following will apply:

If you have purchased the Travel Disruption extra as part of your travel insurance,a claim will be considered up to the limit shown in your policy documents.
If you have not purchased the Travel Disruption extra, your claim will be considered up to the value of €1,000 only. This will only apply where you have purchased either an Essential or Extra AA Travel Insurance Policy and will not apply for a Value policy.

I think it's still unclear if this is a reinfection or if it is a flaw with the testing

    Can you please explain

The uninformed/uneducated/untravelled attitude throughout this thread of how everything IRISH is sooo bad and wrong.

The amount of posts criticising the HSE for example comparing them to the NHS when in fact the advice is the same but people dont bother researching this to find it out. Easier to just wade in and criticise it coz it's Irish.

And you with that claptrap about Varadkar in wellies.
Have you never seen a politician in any other country do that? Is it what politicians do ffs. It doesnt make this country a heap!
    It is human nature EVERYWHERE.
It is a garbage attitude that has taken hold to a massive extent. Grass is not always greener.

    Hopefully not.

We shouldn't all have to face increased premiums because of a few panic-merchants cancelling their holidays.

They don't use that term any longer there will be no announcement .
A member of WHO actually said today that it is everywhere already and that Italy is no longer an epicentre

I think the world health organisation has lost a lot of credibility the last few weeks. More interested in appeasing China than preventing contagion.

It's not panic merchants it's people genuinely concerned for their and their loved ones health.

I don't think with travel insurance you can get paid out if you cancel your holiday.

It has to be cancelled in circumstances beyond your control afaik.

Which scenario do you think it would be prudent to base our actions on?
