Howdy all - anyone heading to the belfast gig? I just booked a ticket for myself and will do a round trip.

Just wondering if anyone knows of some good safe parking around the venue?

There's a shopping centre across the road from the venue. I'd say it'll be mobbed but it's probably your best bet.

Cool. Think I'll park in the city and get a taxi out. Seems to be the safest idea.

Parked just of Lisburn Road for Foos in same venue. Think was Osbourne Park. On street, grand area, was cheap, 5 minute walk or so to the gate (bridge over trains and go straight to venue)

Was at Lindemann in Munich tonight - fupin excellent gig! Was by the sound desk so saw the techies understandably cringe every time he smashed the microphones (which was quite a lot) and it descended into hardcore pornography pretty quickly. Its pretty understandable why there's no Irish dates - will be interesting if the Daily Fail picks up on it when he hits the UK :pac:

    Well jel...
In sure it's the same reason why we get looked over by so many bands here, an issue of investment vs. return.

I wonder how the tickets for Belfast are selling. I know a few Rammstein fans not going because it's not in Dublin.

I like these type of videos.

Makes you realise what an operation these gigs are, and where the money goes

I'd love to see them in Belfast, but the fact the gig has to be over by 11 (I'm open to correction on this but believe I'm right) means that daylight could leave a lot of their setup not what it could be

I just saw this today too. It's mental there is so much involved.

Any recommendations where to stay in Belfast and any metal bars for an after party?

I saw them in summer in Copenhagen. They put out a lot of smoke which darkens the space. I thought it would be too bright for the pyro but I was wrong.

I sure hope this coronavirus thing is under control by June...

I saw yesterday that Lacuna Coil have cancelled their tour due to Coronavirus. I wouldn't be surprised if Rammstein did the same thing. I have contacted Aiken to get some clarification as those of us who have booked accommodation will need notice to cancel without incurring fees.

The specifics of that tour may have bearing on it though. The band are from the worst affected area in Europe and the tour was to South East Asia. With that said, who knows what the situation will be come June as it's changing minute by minute right now.

With Glastonbury cancelled so it looks like a lot of the summer gigs might follow suit. I'd say we could be looking at Rammstein to be cancelled. Things will hopefully start levelling out by May/June but not sure if governments will want to risk thousands of people in one place causing spikes again.

I think we can expect a COVID-themed song from Till on the next album! It's after causing so much chaos!

Is Belfast anywhere near sold out? If they cancel the tour they know for sure what the demand is there now, might not be worth their while.

    Unfortunately I think you're right.

depressing to think that some bands i wish to see may be retired before this blows over

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,001 ✭✭✭Jofspring

I think Rammstein will be back. I'd be hoping worst case scenario if they don't come back to Northern Ireland next year they might add a date down here or even some extra UK ones.

Yeah, may move it to Dublin. Extremely selfish i know.

Wouldn't be sure. Belfast was likely selected because the aviva was being used for uefa thingy. That's postponed until summer 2021 so I presume the same issue will be present then.

I'm seeing reports that Till is in intensive care with COVID-19. Hope to God he pulls through.

On a separate note, I think we can say goodbye to the Belfast gig in June :(

Saw the same, Bild (ugh) reported that he was in intensive care in quarantine. He tested positive and was diagnosed with pneumonia, but they are also reporting that he is feeling better and recovering. Hope so!

To be honest I dont think the European tour would have gone ahead this summer.
The German gigs are due to begin at the end of May in football stadia.
The Bundesliga will take precedence once it resumes so the venues would not be available ,it could be July before the league is finished.

All very true. I think it's time to cancel accommodation bookings.

Latest from the bands facebook page:

"Yesterday evening Till Lindemann was admitted to a hospital on the band’s doctor’s advice. He spent the night in intensive care but has been moved as he is feeling better. Till has tested negative for the coronavirus."

Oh wow, I don't know if that's more or less worrying given he needed an ICU bed and tested negative
