those 750 will be a more engaging drive than the merc, but give me the w221 any day, just infinitely more presence in my opinion...

absolutely. I think the w221 is a much nicer car but the f01 tips that scale back.

that said the e65 has really grown on me and if I found one with all the toys for <5k id be very tempted. W221's with the larger engines are getting stupid rare as they all get exported.

2005 A8 3.7 Petrol with 55k miles on the clock.
Very clean car but the fact the NCT has been out since 2017 would worry me.

Yeah it's only part of the car that's dirty.

so they want to sell an already difficult car to sell here, short of giving it away.I am sorry, you are not that busy, that you dont have an hour for the nct, you are either incredibly lazy or have something to hide. I wouldnt mind if the care even failed and you knew it failed on XXX and they were selling it on that basis, but not NCT trying to shift that? do one!

Nice, but has completely wrong size tyres on all 4 corners of those Style 149s, they're like monster truck tyres!

Yup, looks all wrong, those tyres are nearly high enough profile to cause rubbing!

It does have a nice big dirty V8 though....

If I could get a spin to Naas you can call me a fool! I paid 500 more for a dodgy looking 460 that turned out to be a great Car! These things don't break...

bar the thing is hiding a bad crash or a load of rust im inclined to agree, it probably needs brakes or something and the mechanic told the owner not to bother, disks and pads and labour would be a 1/3 the price of the car.

If it turned out to be a complete shed you would still make 1K breaking it as that's on air! Once the air is working grand and it drives well I'd drive it. They are thirsty bastards though, my low fuel light came on the other day I stopped immediately and it cost €110 to fill!

Of all the barges, this would be the most reliable and safest bet. It's a glorified Japanese built toyota. Super reliable and loves Lpg.

Trust me, I have one as a daily, now with 190k miles on it.

I get that, I've a 2006 RX 400h, first ever Lexus, won't be my last, they are hands down better than Mercedes or BMW and I drove them for 20 odd years.

I just don't get why the dealer didn't NCT it, if something goes wrong in that it could be very expensive*, even an NCT fail sheet would shed some light on any issues.

*Having said that I got quoted €730 from Lexus to fix the self levelling headlights on my car, got the part on Ebay for €30 and had it fitted for another €30. If buying that LS I'd just need to see a fail sheet to clarify things.

Objectively, it's a great value car, super reliable by all accounts, very comfortable and a bit of power to boot. But my mate had a 2000 gold Corolla 15 years ago and everything about the interior of this car reminds me of it. Zero prestige. If you can turn a spanner and can put up with less reliability, german luxobarges of the same era are streets ahead. I'm actually surprised those LS are 2004 models, they remind me of mid to late 90s interiors.

But at the same time, compare then to what else you'll get for €2k. Probably the best buy in this segment at this price point.

Can we call this a barge? SL350, claimed 38k miles, NCT til October, €4995

4 owners and cat D, but not recent. Not a huge worry on an older car either IMO.

Been watching it for a while. Cant make sense as to why its so cheap, even for a Cat D. Iv been tempted to call, even just to find out what happened with it, and its history because thats a very very low reg number for a UK import. Could it have been originally Irish, exported to the UK, and then brought back? Would it keep its "original" Irish plates if re-imported?
