37 candidates elected from 42 must be some sort of record. You have to hand it to Mary Lou. Really thought the party would struggle after Gerry stepped down.

Also on NT and all they wanted to talk about was a guy in a pub.

    And whose fault is that?

It took 53 DAYs last time Brendan...53 days.

And here you are, several hours after the count ended. :):):)

Now Francie I’m not expecting immediate results, but going underground on the big issues so early is not like them.

Show some leadership is what I am saying.

Come on the national airwaves and talk about private discussions?

    Seriously Brendan? :D:D:D

One interview.. does not equate going underground.

Tbf. You're being a bit silly now

New politics doesn’t involve skulking away from our national broadcaster’s flagship current affairs programme because they don’t want to answer questions about the dude down in Waterford.

SF supporters don’t see what the fuss is about, but that’s what’s makes their hardcore supporter different than those of us in general society. They think differently and have a different moral compass. The party knows it’s an issue though and have gone to ground.

Isn't that what FG based their previous campaigns on and have used it as an excuse for the last 9 years

It's one interview... Is this really what your hanging your coat on.

You realise they are out and about trying to form a government.

    This is... Well ..... ....

Well if they've both said no to SF then it's back to the polls.
In all probability yes but a good way before we get there and many options to play with.

Our current issues are complex, and caused by long term failures from previous governments, they will more than likely continue for many governments due to their complex nature, each new government adding more complexity to these issues, and introducing their own failures to address these issues, of course there will also be success stories along the way, as was with previous governments

So the country was in great shape when FG took over.

That’s a new one on me.

    You are getting silly now.

No it wasn't in great shape. But the point been made was FG blamed the previous government for 9 years.

Nobody was on Pat Kenny either. they don't want to face the questions. Which is fair enough, the damage has been done and staying quiet is probably the best option since they clearly don't want to apologize.

However the fact they don't want to apologize says a lot about the party.

That's what they are avoiding having to do.
    Standard behaviour.
How many times have we heard the line about all parties at one time or another...'xxxxxx is unavailable for comment' or 'we asked xxxxxxx to provide a spokesperson, but none was available'.

IMF, dude. Bankrupt. Bailouts. Bad shît.

Now? Full employment and a budget surplus. Get on with it and stop complaining.

FG will be there in a few years to do some muttering and start the business of tidying up and sorting out the mess left.

They were on NT and RTE answering not the serious questions.

    The nonsensical ones this morning.

I think most people have heard enough about a lad in a pub,

    People are on trollys

    Homeless.

    Riding silently beside their parents.

    We need to move on.

    Now

    Record people in trollys

    People dieing of cancer

    over 10k homeless.

That "guy in a pub" was the second TD declared elected this year, and took more first preference votes than your party leader. You can't disown him or play him down as some minor actor when it suits you.

He's also old enough to know better than shouting "up the ra" after five pints like some angsty teenager.

No we need back to back shows from the same station all day long answering the same question.

Or we could you know try to get a government off the ground quick.

There's very little time supposedly leo was saying last week

Doesn’t work anyway, people have very short memories.
