Tactics have been atrocious. Not having a full forward line half the time with a gale behind you... Madness.

Fergal Boland the shining light in the first half.

That looked like a definite footblock from Diarmuid as well, lucky to get away with it.

He got his foot to it before the Meath man, so it couldn't be a block.

Playing alright but no denying the tactical flaws are still plain to see. AOS taking that last sideline sums that up. Lack of goal threat call ncerninh still.

Overall though not too bad and regardless of the wind we should still have too much for Meath this half

Normally players we talk about missing, but I'd swap 3 or 4 of them to have Donnie Buckley back on the line. Our tackling has been shocking all year, especially poor today.

Defence has been cut wide open a few too many times with relatively pedestrian moves. Wind responsible for a lot of the handling errors, but clearly some (major) issues with the strategy there. A few of the forwards tracking back looking at sea.

Disappointing showings from James D and Ryan so far. Though shot selection right throughout the team looking poor which isn't helping.

A lot to work on for the second half (and rest of the year). Kev Mac's carrying might be very important yet. Fingers crossed.

I think if we win it will be a case of Meath having too little. We have scored 7 points with a gale. Similar scoring and decision making last time out.
What exactly was our gameplan first half?

Hard to judge what it is in most league games. So many inexperienced lads out there especially in forwards

    Ah Loftus. Miserable miss that

    Another terrible miss

    Loftus on frees now
    Christ we learn nothing
Looking forward ro Hennelly trotting up to miss the long range ones now too

We've coughed up five kickable scores now. Thankfully Meath have been shocking too.

Edit. Goal Meath. We're in for a tough final 20 now.

Huge score. Looks very difficult now.

Where will the 3 or 4 scores we need to stay in div1 come from? We need a goal

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,048 ✭✭✭Bunny Colvin

    **** sake.

    Uh-oh.....decent goal.

God I hate Meath so much

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,016 ✭✭✭Euphoriasean

That looks to be that. Harrison in no man's lands there.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,048 ✭✭✭Bunny Colvin

Darren Coen or Reape need to be used, 100% would have been a better option than Loftus.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,016 ✭✭✭Euphoriasean

Loftus took 5 steps before he hopped it, that's nonsense.

Horan loves repeating the same mistakes

What was nonsense was not taking the score on
    Where was he going ?

Regardless it was a very harsh call

Great score from mcloughlin. Didn't want him to take it on but fair play

    Same
Don't think he wanted to either
Again worrying that we are back to something that has failed and failed in the past

Looks like we're closing out the game.

    A point behind.

Good man Kev, some amount of passes there.

  • Registered Users Posts: 48,141 ✭✭✭✭km79

How many subs have me made..........

  • Registered Users Posts: 48,141 ✭✭✭✭km79

    Meath are absolutely brutal too

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,624 ✭✭✭Cartman78

Mcloughlin the only player on the pitch that seems to have figured out how to shoot into the wind

The lack of movement from the forward line is so frustrating.

Donoghue did well to hold onto it.
