Tralee has pacers on the last Saturday of each month, you'd have a pacer for every minute from 20-30 usually and then maybe a 32, 36 and a 45 as well for fast walkers.

St Annes has pacers on the last Saturday of every month. Often from 18 to 33 min and normally pretty accurate within 10 - 15 seconds of the time. 21:14 for 22 is ridiculous.

Rivervalley has pacers on the first run of each month. The lad who regularly paces 20/21 minutes is particularly good looking.

To be fair St Anne's can catch you out if you are using a Garmin. The last kilometer often measures at only 900m for me meaning the previous kms have been slightly longer. You could be spot on your time for the first 4 km per the Garmin and then end up too quick in the last 'short' km.

    Wasn't the St Anne's pacer running 21:14!

The 21.14 pacer was at Russborough pacing 22mins.

That’s why the best St. Anne’s pacers know where the actual km ‘markers’ and the precise halfway point are. ;)

Maybe there was no one else going for 22, but someone with a particular time, e.g. 21:20, to beat. So pacer obliged?

I was going for 22 lol! Got a bit of an injury at the moment so my plan was just stick with him see how I feel towards the end.

Mullingar do pacers as well. And it's a flat course so you could be in pb territory. They had pacers last weekend.

The start is a bit tight for buggies, skinny path. When you get a bit of space after a few hundred metres, it's fine.
Bonus at Hartstown tomorrow of ten pacers for all different times.
    Have a great run!

Nice. I usually just start at the front if it's a narrow start. Thanks for the heads up.

What were things like over there today? Ran Meadowmill as part of a longer run and a tester for pacing duties next week the wind was horrific!

I just seen the female Parkrun world record holder Charlotte Arter knocked a second off her best time (15:50) in Cardiff on Saturday to record a 15:49 run.

Despite setting the fastest ever female parkrun time, she was 8th finisher overall. The second lady was only 10 odd seconds behind her. So some seriously fast runners at Cardiff parkrun

Very fast, although I doubt it would be as fast a course for the men. The 8 people infront of her will have been very useful in clearing a space on the side of the path for her to get through. I'd would expect the first finisher had to run through the mud on the side of football pitches.

Edit: If the men took a couple of mates with them to run interference for the first 3km then Cardiff could get the world record time, it's definitely a flatter course and better surface than Bushy Park. Just need people to clear a path on the two way section for them. Couldn't run a record time on your own there.

That certainly stood out alright! 8th finishing in that time is insane! Up in Scotland the Edinburgh parkrun in Crammond is the main run (regularly 600+) and other than one semi reg who runs once a month it's rare to see sub 16 and often low 17s is first to finish. Amazing to see a run have so many sub 16 times.

A few weeks back Jaryd Clifford (gold medal at last year Paralympics at 5000m) was in Edinbrugh and ran the portobello parkrun as part of a 10 mile run and ran 15.23 was unreal seeing him tear off into the distance.

A few times on Strava Jack Rayner has suggested he might do a parkrun (was often running round bushy in London ahead of the 1.59 challenge) once he's back to his best he could definitely have a chance at the overall record.

Not going to be many days a year when Edinburgh is good for super fast times as its exposed on the coast. Cardiff is very sheltered from the wind with trees along the sides for a lot of the course.

I'm doing Bushy at the end of the month, didn't realise it was a particularly fast course. I should have a fantastic time as I will have 1,600 odd people clearing the paths in front of me :D:D

I'm surprised nobody has tried for a record at Dulwich, it felt like a racing oval when I was there!

It's mostly fast because of the number of fast people living nearby. Being one lap though there are also no people to overtake.
