This year my goal is to increase cardiovascular fitness. I cycle every day for 40 minutes to commute and am reasonably fit but I never get out of breath so apparently not benefitting my heart. Have started doing some hiit on exercise bike but would like to know if am working hard enoigh and hopefully see my resting heart rate come down in a few months . It seems polar and Garmin are the best types of HRM but they're alot more expensive than I anticipated. Anyone recommend one that will last a good few years and is about €50-€80. Just want to be able see heart rate on an app on my phone.

Wahoo Tickr fits the bill, you wear a strap around your chest and read from a mobile, its in your price range from memory

Polar H10 can be had for 70 quid, or perhaps even cheaper with offers?

Just came across the dual on wiggle for €57. Will be using android phone- what's the best app to show heart rate real-time and also save data?

If you're cycling, you can use strava and that'll map your ride and also show your heart rate. (can also use it for running).

I thought Strava have removed ability to pair sensors to the mobile app?

    Edit: here's a link https://support.strava.com/hc/en-us/articles/360032979131-Removing-Direct-Sensor-Pairing-from-the-Strava-Mobile-App

Just ordered the wahoo tickr , purely because was the cheapest on Amazon and the Garmin got alot of bad reviews saying they stopped working after a few months. So if Strava is ruled out , what other apps might connect to the tickr and save data.

Has anyone used a polar armband? How are the arm vs chest ones?

Endomondo should work as well, until I'm told otherwise!
